Hello all, my name is Johnboy and figured I'd register to learn some things. Never been a big motorhead but have worked on my V8's in the past. However, I'm clueless on these motors and the whole "DSM" thing. Heck, had to google DSM! Anywho, was doing a G54B build in my 88 Ram50 since it had a Starion block. Now I've been given the "JDM" Cyclone 4g63t so I'll being looking to learn something from you tuners!

Hello John, welcome to the forum

Please correct if im wrong,

are you asking about the clyclone intake manifold or introducing yourself?

because introduction are in another section, and just making sure

But if you have a question about the manifold, type it here

Welcome again

Yeah thought I was introducing myself in the Newbie section but I don't know if this site and my blackberry just don't get along.

Ummm, well I've been doing some searching around the site and figured I have a 1G but still don't know the year of the engine.

I already know how I'm gonna set the truck up but the intake and wiring is going to be my headache. I'll be getting my hands on the cyclone's ECU and wiring. I'll have to do some changes as it was a automatic. But we have that figured out.

Here's a question, if I take the "JDM" intake aka Cyclone off and go the US spec route, I'll have to get another ecu/wiring correct? I've been told to get a sheet metal intake and some sort of tuner.

Also, looking through "search" and newbie threads is starting to give me a bad taste of the site already. Especially when someone is asking about RwD trans and people seem clueless or people saying it can't be done. Here's a clue if anyone catches this thread during a search. YOU CAN USE A MIGHTY MAX / RAM 50 2.0L 5 SPD TRANSMISSION ON A 4G63!!! Lower bolts (bellhousing)on narrowblock are 12.5" and wideblocks (2.0 auto, 2.4, and 2.6) are 13.5" if I remember right.

Yeah this site is confusing. Maybe its my blackberry not meshing well. I originally was trying to do an introduction. That's why I posted in a "Newbie" section. Whatever. Don't think this site will be useful to me anyways as I don't own a car! Viewing the search, seems some members are confused when it comes to trucks and the swap. Thanks anyways.
