I have two mits 20gs in my 99 trans am. One seems to be leaking water into my oil.
Are the bearings different in the oil and water cooled 20gs.I have seen them offered both ways .Can I run no water cooling on my turbos for a few weeks ,planned on sending in the dud in spring but wanted to drive the car for another couple of weeks. Is it going to kill that 20g that fast.I heard people run them without cooling lines or are those only the ones that come with oil only housings?

The bearings shouldn't be different, but the oil only version has larger oil passages. Plenty of people have run the oil and water cooled versions without coolant lines without problems though. I'd be more worried about the fact that if oil and coolant are mixing, disconnecting the coolant lines will probably result in oil just coming out the coolant holes. If you're going to do this temporarily, I'd at least loop or plug the coolant holes on the cartridge.
