wont boost past 6lbs

ok guys i need some help here. my car wont boost past 6lbs, ive turned my MBC both ways and i still get the same reading, i have an Evo Big 16g turbo, and i just installed a XS-Power exhaust manifold. is it the wastegate on the turbo? if so can you buy stiffer springs for the stock ones? any help or feedback would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Jon B.

one last thing, is there supposed to be a rubber o-ring on the bottom of your blow-off valve in you IC pipe, i have a HKS SSQV

Have you done a boost leak test? That the best place to start.

First what I would do is double check your boost controller is hooked up right. Then I would boost leak check the system. Finally I would check your wastegate if the first two checked out ok

I just popped outside to the garage and got the install instructions for my (old style) SSQV and they show an o-ring. Verbatim insructions:

...
4. Install the o-ring into the groove on the flange
5. Connect the SSBV to the flange utilizing the c-clip (the tapered side faces up on the c-clip)
...

So I'd say you might be missing the o-ring huh? That could be the source of your problem, as it would be a pretty massive boost leak. Also, AFAIK, the stock wastegate pressure on the E3 is over 6psi, which means that you should never be able to run that low psi on a well set up (read: leak free) system. Hope that helps.

i would check the functioning of your wastegate. Is spool up really slow as well? If so your wastegate could be blowing open and not allowing the turbo to boost.
