I was boosting about 20psi then all of a sudden I lost boost and was sluggish and there's white smoke coming from exhaust and underhood. Sometimes I can boost maybe 13 max and sometimes I can't at all and when I boost I get lots of smoke..This morning I just happen to check the shaft play on the stock 14b and there was more in and out then up and down...LOL...If so just gives me a reason to upgrade...:thumb: What do your guys think is it safe to say shes fried?

I think it would be safe to say it's gone, possibly blown turbo seal..maybe

O-well FP is still having group buy on 16g i believe.

Im going to check it out. But I was thinking of a second hand one until I go 50 trim. Because im really not ready for a turbo upgrade.

I just checked it out and If im going to spend $600 I might as well buy the sbr 50 trim.

Something had to cause that turbo to fail. Turbo's normally don't develop in / out shaft play on their own....there has to be some type of problem that caused the oil hole in the thrust plate to clog which cut off the oil supply to the plate and the collar. If it has enough oil, in / out play should never occur.

If the turbo's toast, you should tear it down. If you find something like this, I'd be concerned about your engine's well-being:

I dont know what im looking at.

The photo is illustrating the oil supply in the thrust plate being clogged with metal particles from a dying engine.

If you tear into your 14B, you'll find the part in the photo. You have nothing to lose if it's toast.

Oh so what your saying tear it apart to check for metal particles to see if my engine is dying?
