Anyone else get a SS oil feed line for their FP BigT28?

I bought a SS oil feed line for my FP BigT28 from Slowboy. The end that should bolt to the turbo doesn't. The fitting they sent me is a smaller diameter than what it should be. It just spins without any of the threads engaging. I went to a domestic car racing shop. They had what I thought was the right fitting but it too turned out to be just a little bit too small. I called Slowboy and they didn't know. It was a newer item for them at that point and they hadn't tried fitting to a turbo yet. The stock oil feed line to the turbo has a lot of rust and corrosion on it and it worries me. The center section on my FP Big T28 should be the same as the center section of the stock T25. Anybody know what size and thread this fitting should be and where I can get one? I've bought a bunch of parts from Slowboy and have had no problems with them. They are very cool guys and I'm not bashing them. new product just gotta get the kinks out. I don't mind being a guenia sp? :talon:pig. The blue fittings in the center are what I got from the speed shop, not what came with the kit. I misplaced the fitting that originally came with it.

My last turbo was a FP Big T-28 w/ss oil feed line, but I sold it so I can't check the fitting size. Here's Forced Performance's link to their ss oil line, maybe you can get an idea of what you need from the picture. If not your best bet is to give them a call.

Forced Performance: FP 2g Oil Supply Line

and they didn't know. The oil feed line I got looks different from the one straight from FP. Mine has a straight fitting to the turbo instead of a 90 degree elbow. I may have to send this one back to Slowboy and order the one straight from FP instead.

Should be 7/16 Inverted Flare.

That's just from (bad?) memory though. I ran the SS feed on my FP Big T28 a long time ago.

I would just get the fp ss kit, at least it is tested and they have a proven product

about this, money well spent er rather money , well... spent. I guess it would work fine for a 16G maybe I'll post it on DSM traders and here etc and then buy the FP oil feel line. It'll go well with my FP Big T28!

Well just recently I had the Talon jacked up and I was crawling underneath it and noticed I had some coolant leaking. I traced it back and found it was the 3/8ths inch coolant line that down down and across the front of the block and goes into the remote oil filter cooler. It was leaking right at the lowest point right before it converts to rubber hose and heads into the oil filter cooler. I touched it a couple times and it broke. I do drive the Talon in the winter and it rusted right thru. I ran a new section of stainless steel 3/8ths inch piping for the oil filter cooler. Man is that stuff a pita to put a bubble flare on! I guess it's ok. I'd rather have a coolant line break while the car is in the garage than out on the road somewhere. I also took that opportunity to replace all the rubber 3/8ths inch hoses that are part of the coolant system. There are quite a few of them and most all of them looked pretty crappy with some ballooning etc. I don't think they like the added heat from having a full stainless exhaust system. DNP ss exhaust manifold, Variant racing ss tubular O2 sensor housing and Punishment racing ss 3 inch downpipe.
The oil feed line looked worse than the coolant line did but was still intact. I had ordered a ss braided oil feed line thru Slowboy when i got the new Fp BigT28 as the oil feed line looked like it was in need of replacing even back then a couple years ago. The one I got thru Slowboy didn't fit but would work perfectly for a 16G. I left it sitting in the garage for the last couple years and forgot about it until the coolant line broke. I ordered a new ss braided oil feed line specifically for the FP BigT28 and just got it tonight. Finally I have the right fitting on the turbo side and took the old line out (in pieces) and started installing the new line. Ran into a snag... The bronze fitting they include at the end to screw into the remote oil filter housing... is not threaded right for it. The same can be said for the oil feed line from Slowboy. Both are threaded the same and neither fit. I am a little annoyed with FP since this is the product they offer specifically for the turbo and a 2G AWD DSM. I will give them a call tomorrow but in the meantime I might go to NAPA etc and see if I can find the correct threaded fitting.
Honestly, I am starting to feel that the Big T28 is kinda a troublesome beast. The guy from FP said that the fitting on the turbo size is a standard brake fitting. Weird to find on a turbo.

I told him the brass fitting that connects to the oil filter housing is the wrong thread. He told me it's pipe thread. He told em they don't make that fitting in metric and told me that all of his cars just use the pipe thread fitting. He said just wrap it with Teflon tape and make it fit. I am not used to making things fit. I like things that fit period. I also asked about the lack of a restrictor in the FP oil feed line and he said no need not until you get into a all bearing turbo. That the turbo will like more oil flow.

Correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the t25 and t28 oil feed lines supposed to be the same size ?

A year later and you're just getting your feed line? :p That turbo doesn't need a restrictor, it's like a stock t25, they didn't come with one, it's a journal bearing turbo that likes oil, you're fine. The pipe thread on the oil filter housing is bspt, the fitting he gave you is npt. However, they are only one thread per inch different(BSPT-28, NPT-27), so people just thread them in anyway, and get away with it.

I bought a SS oil feed line for my FP BigT28 from Slowboy. The end that should bolt to the turbo doesn't. The fitting they sent me is a smaller diameter than what it should be. It just spins without any of the threads engaging.
They sent you a fitting with a 1/8" NPT thread that would normally fit a T3 oil supply hole.

Like the Ball Bearing center housings, a T25/T28 oil supply hole is threaded for 1/4" TUBE thread, like any brake or fuel line from an automotive store. This thread is 7/16" x 20, but it needs to have an inverted flare to seal properly....tapered threads do not work with this type of line.

The line you need should look like this:

I called Slowboy and they didn't know.
I'm shocked.

Being that they're "The performance experts for factory turbocharged vehicles", and the T28 uses a factory T25's center housing, this info should've been on page 1 of their training manual.

Kinda had a lot happening with knee surgery then rupturing a disc in my neck, then losing the use of my left arm, then having the wife split, take the kids and file for divorce, then getting the two vertebrae fused back together in my neck with a 23 mm titanium plate and four inch long ti screws and the whole recovery thing and foreclosure of the house and... well the list is kinda long. It's been a hectic bit of time.
Things have been moving at a snails pace, I'm just happy to have the use of my left arm back and be able to one; drive the Talon again (there was a period of time back in February when all I could seem to do is drive it off the road, hard to drive a stick with one arm) and 2; wrench on it again.
The line I ordered from FP looks exactly like the one you posted Jusmx141. It fits wonderfully at the turbo. I installed the oil feed line and just made it fit at the oil filter housing like the suggested thru the use of Teflon tape. It seems to be holding. I will keep my eye on it.
Yes the T28 and T25 use the exact same fitting at the turbo. And yes the stock oil feed line does have a restrictor built right into it right at the fitting at the oil filter housing.
