Hi,

I am currently working on a senior design project at my school (Virginia Tech) and I am in need of some turbocharger data. I would like to see if anyone has a turbine map for a Holset HX-35 (yes turbine map), I forgot to write down the A/R ratio. I was unable to find any for Holset's and I know that it is almost impossiple to find them so I was just wondering if anyone on here had them.

Thanks a lot,
Bill

Holset is owned by Cummins, the deisel engine company. I believe most people who have gotten official information on the Holsets have gotten it from them. There's a Cummins dealer/tech facility in my town, but that's because this is a fishing/shipbuilding port.

If you can't find a local Cummins facility, let me know, I might be able to drop by and see if they have any information on the Holsets.

Awesome man. Yeah we run the turbo on a 3.9L cummins deisel. I will try to get in contact with a cummins facility in the next couple of days. I appreciate you offering to go out of your way, hopefully I can find a facility around here.

Do a forum search on Holset, there are plenty of forums about the HX35/HX40. And there should be Cummins recruitments for jobs at Virginia Tech. Cummins was a big thing bringing NASCAR and F1 show cars to Purdue looking for ME, MET, and EE majors this month.

Forgot to mention do a search here; http://wsl.cummins.com/ServiceLocator/jsp/controller.jsp?action=getregion. There plenty of Cummins in Virginia.

Yeah I talked to the Cummins people when they came here for the job fair but they didnt bring any NASCAR or F1 cars, bummer. I searched on here and couldn't really find anything but I'll try to find a specific Holset forum or something like that, good idea.

Holset doesn't give out that info or least I didn't find them. I was surprise when I got the HX40, it was bigger than I thought. The forum search does give a lot of info about for people are really into Holset turbos on DSM.

Yea. You're going to run into a big Holset brick wall on getting their test data on their turbos compressor maps and turbine maps are hard to come by and often times mislabeled. . .

Do you have an 8-blade compressor or a 7 or 6 blade comrpessor? I believe that most hx40s run a 17 cm^2 turbine housing. . . Isn't it a divided t4 flange? Oh well, none of this will really help you determine turbine flow :)

I will have to check the blade count tomorrow when I go into school. I believe it does have the divided T4 flange. But as you said, that doesnt help me figure much out. Also I haven't stopped by any Cummins facilities this weekend, been real busy this weekend with football and work, LOL.
