SBR-G60 vs. SBR Std. 20G

i have multiple questions about these two turboes as im looking at buying one asap.

1. what is the maximum boost on each one i can run on stock internals (fuel system, etc is already modded)

2. when do they fully spool up at around?

3. the g60 comes standard as using an external w/g, is it alright to run the 38mm internal?

4. please inform me on the 90 degree elbow that it comes with as an option.

5. what is the maximum horsepower that these turboes have been known to put out, times too if you know.

The maximum boost you can run with those two turbos is gonna be the highest number you can get before you see knock. If you go with the SBR G60 I would much rather go external wg and have rock solid boost. The 90* fitting that is optional is the exit of the turbo where the intercooler goes. You can find times on these turbos by going to the 1/4 mile time thread in this forum.

This is quite a difference in those turbos (60 trim vs. 20G) Spool is gonna be quicker in the 20g. It says the that the G60 is good for more then 400whp and have put many people into the 11's ON A GOOD TUNE.
 
yeah im looking more towards the g60 i think it'll be better for the setup im looking at running. i want to hit around 400whp. 11's would be awesome too. i just wanna find out when it will fully spool 18-20 pounds.
 
You probably wont be seeing 400whp on only 18-20 psi on either turbo. I would run the G60 up to around 26-28psi. Maybe over 30 with race gas and a good tune. That will also be your best bet at 11's. Full spool will depend on alot, but if you would like to reduce it look into a ball bearing 60 trim or you could get a Tubular manifold, Cams, or SMIM.

Just an FYI, cams or an SMIM will not help spool. These are more for top end breathing than encouraging low end response. That being said, having the cams degreed with adjustable cam gears can strongly influence spool characteristics. Leaning the tune on the low end will also create more heat and encourage the turbo to come online sooner.
 
To illustrate the difference between these two turbos, a 20g will max out around 48 lbs/min, and a 60 trim will do about 60 lbs/min. That's a 20-25% difference in max power output. At up to 25 psi both turbos will flow the same amount of air, so choose based on spool if you don't plan to go higher. If you intend to run more boost on race gas go with the larger turbo.

Ona 2 liter, the TDO6H 20G hit 25 psi at 3700-3800 rpm. The 5H version will do slightly better. I can't recall what a 60 trim sized turbo spooled at on a 2 liter, I want to say I saw the same 25 psi at about 4200 rpm. A 6H/35R got me 25 psi by 4400 for another point of reference. It's not a huge difference between those two turbos, but it is appreciable and worth weighing in your decision.
