I was hoping/wondering if anyone has base settings for an safc for a 2.3 stroker. If someone has settings for a 2.4 that would probably work reasonably well too. thanks in advance.

2.3L
gt28rs turbo
full exhaust
650's
fmic
255lph

I think that is all the required info.

Your settings are going to be based on your injectors...not your motor.

And you need a logger to properly set your low's and a logger and or wideband to set your high's...

I've got a similar setup... safc, 680's, 2.3L, fmic, 255, etc but running a 60-1 turbo. You could use around -30 to -33 for a general base guess of where it should be. My car is in another state right now though so I couldn't tell you my exact settings...

Get a logger and tune that thing~!

Thanks everyone. I plan on getting an afpr before tuning. Also, I am just going to set the base tune and pay to have it tuned, so i won't need a wideband for that. It will save me a lot of money if it has a base map before they start. So again, thanks for the posts.

well get on a logger and get a decent driveable tune on it. who built the motor for you and why wasnt it tuned immediately. and with that setup, you should toss that afc and get dsmlink or aem. dont build the motor right and cheap out on the most important thing to reaching your hp goals...tuning.

whoa whoa whao. There's no need to tell me how or what to do to my car. I asked for advice for an afc, not what I should or should not do.

To answer your questions, it was built after it blew and I figured go ahead and build it up now. It wasn't tuned at that time because I didn't have anything else on the car. If i had money, I would not be buying an afc, I would buy an aem system.

Next time you tell someone what they should or shouldn't do, it would be polite to assume they're not an idiot and aren't rich. thanks. :notgood:

sorry. didnt mean to come off rude. the reason i say immediately is because i have been told many times that even a short drive can hurt the car plenty especially when it has not been broken in. but still, the best way is to grab a logger and tune your fuel trims so the car will at least be somewhat driveable. for tuning for stable driveablility, i would call your tuner and ask him for a base tune. he should be fully capable of supplying you with the settings you need. if not, i suggest a different tuner. to get the car running try road race for their settings. they have a very good walkthrough of setting up the afc for whatever injectors you run. just keep in mind, 650's are a pain on that afc, i know, ive tried. sorry again for coming off rude, let us know how it turns out.

Ok, these may have to wait a day or so... Last night we pretty much just had fluids to put in, wheels on, exhaust on, and plugs/wires and were gunna finish today, but there's 3" of snow adn it's still coming down. I want this thing to run today though... so we'll see what happens.

did you ever get that thing tuned? i'd still like to get those numbers! thanx.

CanadianTSi, you said "Your settings are going to be based on your injectors...not your motor." can anyone confirm this? will my base tune be the same or similar to a 2.0 with the same mods? thanks everyone!

I didn't end up getting it tuned. Long story short I'm in college and went home to fix it and when I was there my logger decided to stop working so couldn't tune it... Base settings are about where I noted earlier in the thread. It still runs good though;)
