A thread where we can chat about the results of the test, and I can answer any questions, take request, etc.

The above link was the conclusion of the internally gated turbo test. We will soon start another thread with dyno test on externally gated turbos, which we are trying to test turbos with flow rates from 55 lb/ min to about 75 lb/ min.

Mike, like quite a few other people, I am very eager on the results of the G50 w/ an external gate. I notice you want to dyno turbo's w/ an ex. gate w/ flow rates of 55+ lb/min, but you HAVE to throw a mix of 50 trims (49 lb/min) turbos on.

Thanks bud!

Yes please, id say this is the most popular set-up out there right now. :thumb: I cant wait for the external test. :rocks:

Dan, looking at the old thread, I believe they do plan on re-testing the Bullseye 50-trim and the G50 with an external wastegate (and possibly a couple other sub-50 lb/min turbos).

I run an Internal gate on my 50 trim and it will hold 24psi rock solid till redline. Do you think that the Dyno is simply not applying enough load and that is why the boost is falling off up top?

When my car is on a AWD Mustang Dyno which is a load dyno my boost settings stay exactly the same as on the street.

Just a though?

No worries, I will add a few 50 trims to the mix!

The Dynapack is just that much more consistent than any other dyno on the market, and it will pick up even a very subtle change. So subtle in fact, if you turn the headlights on in the middle of a dyno pull you can watch the graph dip in real time.

We are doing 11 second sweeps, so if anything we are putting more load on the dyno than a Dyno Jet or Mustang Dyno.

I have a GT14 with your 38mm internal wastegate on it and haven't got a chance to push it as I am still breakin in the engine and everything but you think the 38mm will dropp off up top like on the smaller turbos

On the 8.3:1 motor the V-trim out pulled the 57 trim. How would the 50 trim compare in the mix running 20psi?

Holy old thread!!

I think the V trim would be more responsive down low, but though out the RPM band the 50 trim would out pull the V trim at 20 psi.

I have the gt13 that I have purchased with I/G and the boost would drop from 28 to 25-26psi on a 4th gear dyno pull..I have since switched to 38mm gate and no problems..
