It works just fine. I Do that to all the DSM's I own, but in Pueblo CO there are no emissions so it dont hurt a thing.D_Eclipse9916 said:Your supposed to block off all those intake manifold ports??? Does this cause any weird idle or bad side effects doing everything the ysay in this?
Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but those nipples are vacuum activated and by hooking vaccum to it you are in a sense hooking part of your EGR system back up. I believe the BOV needs to be connected after the throttle body, and you should be able to "T" into the other nipple on the intake mani to hook it too.SexyGsX said:I have done this awhile ago and then I recently did a 6 bolt swap and my bov now connects to one of those three nipples on the throttle body. The manifold was not a turbo manifold and does not come with the other hole, so I was wondering if there will be any ill effects from this. It is running a little weird in general but it could be from many other things. I am still ironing out the small things. My Greddy type s makes a chh...chh...chh... sound instead of a smooth whistle like before, could this be from it? Should I tap a line where the other one was? Please and thanks in advance.
You can just take any of the lines that went to the throttle body off. if it is not turbo related you can just remove the lines and solenoids they went to. I have heard that you should not have to cap off the nipples on the T/B because they are vacuum activated, but I dont know how much truth there is to that. I cap them off anyway.Boostin GST said:just started doing this right now and im wondering what i do with the line going to the avaporative canister. doesnt show what to do on the second pic. i am supposed to remove purge control valve right?

Well, if you EGR valve is defective, it will cause a CEL to appear. By performing the blockoff mod, you can fool your ECU into thinking a dead EGR is working just fine. Clear the CEL and you're on your way. I did it on my car and it worked just fine.99GSXAWDTURBO said:just curious....what the advantage of EGR blockoff/removal?
I agree. I've performed better weight reduction in the bathroom.Burnett03 said:not less weight.. the amount you lose from removing the EGR wont make any difference at all
