cant really see it and would be a big help a bigger pic.

Why not just save it on your computer and open it in a photo program and zoom in on the parts you aren't sure about. Either way, even at the size it's at it's pretty easy to tell what's going on imo.

yea that should work. didnt really think it would come out but its good for me. thanks and what part of tx? im in san antonio.

Your supposed to block off all those intake manifold ports??? Does this cause any weird idle or bad side effects doing everything the ysay in this?

It works just fine. I Do that to all the DSM's I own, but in Pueblo CO there are no emissions so it dont hurt a thing. :thumb:

I have done this awhile ago and then I recently did a 6 bolt swap and my bov now connects to one of those three nipples on the throttle body. The manifold was not a turbo manifold and does not come with the other hole, so I was wondering if there will be any ill effects from this. It is running a little weird in general but it could be from many other things. I am still ironing out the small things. My Greddy type s makes a chh...chh...chh... sound instead of a smooth whistle like before, could this be from it? Should I tap a line where the other one was? Please and thanks in advance.

Someone can correct me if I am wrong, but those nipples are vacuum activated and by hooking vaccum to it you are in a sense hooking part of your EGR system back up. I believe the BOV needs to be connected after the throttle body, and you should be able to "T" into the other nipple on the intake mani to hook it too.

just started doing this right now and im wondering what i do with the line going to the avaporative canister. doesnt show what to do on the second pic. i am supposed to remove purge control valve right?

You can just take any of the lines that went to the throttle body off. if it is not turbo related you can just remove the lines and solenoids they went to. I have heard that you should not have to cap off the nipples on the T/B because they are vacuum activated, but I dont know how much truth there is to that. I cap them off anyway.

still dont know what to do with the EVAP line. it goes away from engine bay and into car it seems.

will this give any cel's if you leave the ecectronics hooked up?

yes your supposed to leave the wires hooked up just remove the hoses. that way you wont get a check engine light.

anyone know about the EVAP line im talking about? remove cap or what?

Although I agree I still have done this mod. To me the less chance of boost leaks, cleaner engine bay and a few lbs of free weight reduction were worth it.

since you have done this mod, what did you do with the line going to the emmisions canister that isnt in engine bay? plug it, take it off and if so where is it?

Just follow the picture, the canister is under the battery, I took mine out completely. There still was a line coming out from towards the firewall. I just left that disconnected and no ill effects.

I'm in the process of removing everything right now. I believe the benefits of having the EGR system removed are no no vacuum leaks, a bit less weight (less than a 1/2 pound), and (most importantly to me, anyway) more space. The drawback is that you will be polluting the air and have a smell of gas in the engine bay/around the car. I believe it is a good idea, if you live in really hot climates, to have the canister in place with the vacuum to the intake since a lot of pressure from the heat can build in the gas tank and the vacuum will alleviate the issue. There isn't any gunk that comes from the canister to the intake line, just a little hot air.

not less weight.. the amount you lose from removing the EGR wont make any difference at all

Ok so I removed the vacuum lines from the EGR and left the solenoids plugged to the wiring harnesses and after driving on the freeway for about 10 min and exiting the CEL comes on. On the plus side, my car is running much better at the high end RPMs but the CEL is on and it's annoying the crap out of me. After researching I thought that removing the lines will not cause a CEL as long as the solenoids are plugged in. What did I do wrong?

just curious....what the advantage of EGR blockoff/removal?
Well, if you EGR valve is defective, it will cause a CEL to appear. By performing the blockoff mod, you can fool your ECU into thinking a dead EGR is working just fine. Clear the CEL and you're on your way. I did it on my car and it worked just fine.

I agree. I've performed better weight reduction in the bathroom. :p

Is that a response to my issue? Do I need that block-off plate to eliminate the CEL?
