One in the right is a 14b the one on the left is a 16g or a big 16g. :D

You can tell by the 6 blade staggered fins on the compressor side 16g and 14b all the blades are the same so I guess you lucked out by the kid not knowing what he sold. :thumb:

I was lookin aroudn the site and i took the number off the turbo and it did not match what i was reading the number is 49178-01460 and i was told that
49178 - 01420 = Big 16G
49178 - 01520 = Small 16G
49178 - 01470 = Evo III 16G

i dont see my number there so can any one help me figuring what turbo this is? thanks

As what i normally get here from Junkyard(chop shop) is a JDM Mitsubishi halfcut. The turbo is normally found install at a specific model. all of this turbo has a G style compressor wheel.

49178 - 01420 = Galant VR4 ECI Multi
49178 - 01450 = Lancer Evolution I
49178 - 01460 = Lancer Evolution II
49178 - 01470 = Lancer Evolution III

Looks like someone got lucky on a JDM engine purchase and got a Lancer engine but assumed it was the regular old Galant engine. He probably unbolted that "tiny 14B" so he could put on his Biggy Stage Eleventeen BULLSHX-35 turbo.

Damn i bet you were stoked to find out it was a EVO :p . That recently happend to me about 6 months ago. this guy needed money quick so he sold me a "small 16g" $250 and when i got home and looked at the code and saw it was a BIG i was SOOO stoked on it. Gotta love dumbasses. :thumb:
