I just got an FP red w/8cm housing. Can someone give me their pros/cons of this turbo? Like what kinda boost does it perform best at etc...Here's my supporting mods so far
2.0 block,ross 9.0:1 pistons,eagle rods,metal hg,arp,no b shafts,hks 264's,ported head,stock intake manifold,ported 2g manifold w/hks 40mm ext,1g o2 housing ported to td06 wheel,msd dis 2,walbro 255 hardwired,3" maft,keydiver chip650cc ,charged air fpr,mbc..etc I need to know what injector size and fmic to use with fp RED? suggestions please

I could be a little off on this, but I believe around 25 psi or so. Also, you would greatly benefit from larger cam shafts... FP2s maybe?? :thumb:

Yea FP2's or 272's would be great. I really like the SBR FMIC's. They are very nicely made and will cool almost anything. I would go no less than 850cc's for the high boosting you are obviously planning to undertake.

ok...i recieved the red today it's actually a 7cm. I was planning on going with 720cc b/c car will always be ran on c16 with high boost and running -6 fuel lines up from tank

Wow you have an almost identical setup to what i have. Mine should be up and running this weekend. The guy i bought my red from went 7.4@96 in the 1/8 mile on 24 psi. Good luck, drop me a line if you have any new information about it and i'll try to keep you up to date on mine. :thumb:

I'm trying to find a reasonable priced FMIC core that will support the RED....i'm leaning towards Big PTE core....what size injectors u running with ## Fp red?

I have the same 7cm Red, I run the adfx fmic absolutely love it. I think really anything above 25 and this turbo starts to come alive thats how i feel it at anyways. Add c16 and this thing is a monster. Also water/alcohol injection helps if you want to run high boost on the street. On 93 oct. and anything above 22psi and my car starts to complain.

Anything with a Spearco 2-216 core will kick ass. As far as injectors go, i wouldn't mess with anything except some 850's or bigger, and a way to dial the fuel pressure up or down. My 8cm FP Green w/850's + keydiver made tuning so simple it wasn't funny.

With a good tune, 720-750cc injectors are all that is needed. If those dont keep up, you need to retune.

I run a 60-1 and only work my 750cc's to about 78%dc so if you really need more than that, you must be making close to 550 whp.

As far as fmic, I run a jr 28x8x3" and have had no issues. IMHO, if you need more than that, you need to find where you went wrong. Larger intercoolersa might look good but for the most part arent needed. The bigger the core, the more pressure drop you get. If you get less pressure drop from a larger ic, chances are, it doesnt flow as well.

And for the record. I run 25 psi on 93 octane daily with no knock and no heatsoak. I have run as much as 30 psi on cam 2 118 octane(5.29/gal here as apposed to c16@ 7.30/gal) and have yet to see any knock or heatsoak.

I was planning on getting an fmic core about 28x8x3. I'm just gonna pick up a core from JRC and try it out I can make my own piping at work no big deal.Inectors I either 750cc or 850cc and a new keydiver chip for injector compensation and for maft.I'm only gonna be running the car on race gas c16 or some 118 it's a race car now not a daily driver.I might be able to get by with some 680cc and bump fp to 45 psi and try it out.

Oh yeah I'm running straight up HKS 264's and 9.0:1 ross pistons...so that should help spool up a bit.
