Hey everyone the time has finally come for me to swap out my t-2slow for a evo big 16g. Iam buying a big 16g next week, and I have already bought the ss oil feed line. My question is because iam not buying the 2g install kit what else will i need? If the gaskets are in decent condition will i only need a j pipe? I wanna go through the install smoothly with no problems. Thanks for the help.

Check the kits of vendors and look at the list, that's about what you need. Turbo-manifold gasket, bolts if you wish, oil return line gaskets, copper crush washers, oil feed line, etc..

I wish you good luck, because my turbo install was nowhere near hassle-free

I just installed mine a few days ago. But the following is what you need.

4 - 14mm crush washers for the water line banjo bolts. You can not re-use the old ones.

2 - Oil return gaskets. I've heard some people don't like to remove the oil return line from the oil pan just to prevent any oil leaks that might appear after a new gasket goes in there. If that's the case with you, you'll only need one but it's better to have the second one just in case.

1 - Manifold to turbo bolt. I'd suggest you just get 4 new ones just in case you get any seized ones in the T25. Same goes for the turbo/o2housing bolts. Hopefully nothing breaks. But if it does, it's better to have new back up bolts.

2 - 6mm oil return line bolts. I thought I could use the ones from the t25, but it turns out they are too big for the 16g.

J pipe, gasket, 2 bolts. I know there are some people who used the sock pipe from the 14b and made the stock smic to t25 rubber hose work by flipping it backwards. My aftermarket J pipe wouldn't clear the radiator fan but I think the thicker flange on my sbr manifold had something to do with that. It was also on the way of my injen intake pipe. I had to dent both, the intake pipe and J pipe to make it work. The 2 oil returnline/T25 bolts that you'll remove, can be used to install the J pipe to the compressor housing outlet. At least that's what I did.

I'm not sure if the manifold/turbo, turbo/o2housing, and o2housing/downpipe gaskets can be re-used, but I would suggest to just go ahead and get new ones. It will suck if you end up needing them in the middle of the install and not have them at hand.

I think that's all you need besides tools and things like pb blaster, gasket sealant, new motor oil, new coolant, etc.

Well good luck and I hope everything goes smooth. It took me 7 hours to install mine with an sbr manifold and new tubular o2 housing. It was my first time doing a turbo swap.

Forgot to point out that if I didn't mention the new oil feed line, it's because you already have it. :thumb:

Thanks for the help man, where can i get all these gaskets from? Do you think they are available at a auto parts store or do i need to go to the dealer?
