Just like the title says, i have a 20g and planning on putting it on my motor. My mods are 255pump, 550's, afc2, (stuff in my pro.), but im planning on adding a SBR FMIC kit, 2gmas with 2g to 1 intake pipe, and gettin a datalogger. But my question is will the 550s and my mods be able to handle the turbo, and i no every1 will tell me to go bigger but will the be OKAY?

It'll come down to tuning. I know a guy running low 12's on a 20g with 550's and cams, but with those injectors your IDC will be pretty high. He regrets going with 550's now.

First off you shouldn't even be driving the car if you have that stuff on and no logger. I can already see a "my motor took a shit" thread in the making.

Second, if you know they are too small then why ask if they are to small? Yes they are. Will they get you by, sure, but just because some have done it doesn't mean its the right way to do it. Would you rather spend 350.00 on new injectors or 3K on a new motor?

I will be running the same setup. I only need injector's and a front mount. Then I can start to install the turbo and start tunning.

You will need bigger injector's. A friend of mine ran a 20g with 550's and lot's of bolt ons. The injector's were at 90% duty cycle. Almost maxed out. But ran a 12.0@114 before the FP Red Swap.

I am looking for either 720's or similar. Not sure yet. I still need alot of supporting mods. Do lot's of research.....It helps.

People went low 11's(maybe even faster) back in the day with 550's...

Again, just because it has been done doesn't mean that is the best way to do it. What was the duty cycle on those injectors? If he ran 660's or bigger there is no down side and it adds a margin for error.

Maybe they used these little things called Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulators? ROFL

Are you going to listen to someone how run 13.8 @ 95? :nono:
I got a 20g now with 550 and ran 11.9 at 111!
You are fine with 550's, mine are at 75% duty.

No, but I bet he will listen to someone that has been nominated by others on this board to be a wiseman. I know is must be hard to see that since a head implanted in an ass makes for rough visibility.

Like I have said time and time again, better safe than sorry, especially when it is fuel, but what do I know.

Everyone just listen to the man. He know's what he is talking about. Just because it has been done before doesn't mean it was the correct way or the right way. Better safe than sorry.

Plus, 75% Duty on those 550's isn't really the best thing if I remember correctly.

But what do I know, I only run a 13.9@96 with the T-25 and bolt ons.

This is simple. Get the wideband all logged up. If you can run 550s with no knock and a good WOT a/f ratio, then why upgrade?

You can look at IDC numbers all day long and if you don't feel comfortable with the percentages, then upgrade.

It's up to you fully, not some Joe Blow in another state who thinks they heard it's bad or good.

What kind of times or power are you wanting to make? Obviously you can go faster and get more power out of 650's or bigger but the 550's will do fine if you are just going to be daily driven 12sec car.

Did everyone forget that when you upgrade injectors...you have to compensate, and since this guy has only an S-afc....hmm can anyone say High timing?

First off get a logger. Your going to need it. If you have an Eprom then pick whatever injectors you want and get a chip burnt for it so that you can have stock timing. An Eprom chip will let you have big injectors for PLENTY of room for advancement and more room for error. If you have an Eprom then just get 650's or even 720's. Once you get that 20g you will feel the need to go faster, you obviously have since you have the Evo 16g and want to upgrade :thumb:

its the same thing i am facing. its really simple. 550s will be enough to run 18-19 psi with proper tunning with your setup on the street. that is still very fast!!! Around 300-340 wheel hp. When you go to the track, dump some race gas in there and you can run 25psi. So ask youself this, are you gonna want to run over 19 psi on the street? If not, then you are fine with 550s, if yes, then you might want to get something bigger.
