Well , I tried searching for a post I saw one time about this turbo but I couldn't find it, so here ya go. I dynoed Monday with an Evo 3 gt turbo I bought off of ebay from turbochargers.com. I have had it on for about a month but haven't boosted past 10psi do to a new fuel set-up, running really rich, and boost controller problems. After fixing the boost contoller, I decided I would go tune it. First initial pull was 191.3whp and 212.7tq at 10psi with the fuel way rich. After changing settings again and again, we finally got it where it needed to be. I made 284.5whp and 295.1tq at 17 psi leaking to 16psi. This turbo is really nice. Boosted quick and didn't fall off until like 6800rpms.

Nice. Sounds like you got a decent tune their. :thumb:

I don't have a scanner to post the dyno sheet, but I do have a video of it if that would help....??

And to Denji, sorry man, I was so happy that I'm 15whp away from my goal that I forgot to....LOL....

Post up that video. Finally someone with real world results, but let's not get back to the trash talking because it's not MHI. Nice tune, keep boostin. :thumb:

I purchased an Evo 3 GT from RRE and let me tell you...it freakin rocks! Upgraded from a 14b and i have no regrets. Well, i did have my doubts at first. Now, my worries are gone. This turbo is a great bargain for the price.

Anyhow, just my 2 cents. :thumb: :thumb:

very good to hear! :thumb: turbochargers.com makes it very easy offering on ebay as well so i can use paypal... sorry if I got off topic

Let's keep hearsay out of this thread. First hand experience only.

If it ends up like previous EVO3 GT threads, I will lock it and recommend vacations.

Currently on Vacation in Las Vegas. :thumb:

Would love to see your video man. Just make sure you compress it a decent amount so it's not 50 MB.

Aight, no problem....maybe mine fell off at 6800rpms because I was at 17psi?? Don't know, but I do know that this turbo pulls hard as hell, was easy to install, and relatively cheap....overall it's a great turbo for someone wanting to be in the 300-350ish range...!! :thumb: :thumb: :thumb:

Well you have HKS cams and in his mod list there is no mention of cams.

Chris

Cams increase airflow through the head, which actually serves to lower boost.

Well then his motor must be breathing better than yours :p jk

But really, it wouldn't do him any good to take it higher than 6800rpm with the stock cams anyway.

you are correct, that is the one in question. But that is why we are all excited to see people buying it and posting their results instead of only hearing one side of the argument so to speak.
