Ok friend of mine crashed eclipse about a month ago and is selling all his parts. Iknow all the stats about the turbos but im curious how hard will it be for me to reach my goal of 350. Im looking to go about 20 or 21 psi on the turbo. I Have all suporting mods besides safc injectors and fuel pump which i will get. With greedy ic, greddy ic pipes, greddy type s bov, full n1, 3 inch down pipe, injen intake, how close will i be to my goal i know i wont be all the way there? Also will i have to bad of traction problems running 350whp on a gst.

Running 21psi? Once you get 650cc injectors, a S-AFC, and a 190lph fuel pump (around $400 used, $650 new) you should be able to hit 350hp. Many claim 400hp is possible with the EvoIII16G. Go for it, the turbo is one of the most common quick spooling street setups. 1st gear will be worthless, you'll churn through 2nd pretty good, 3rd will lock in and your balls will shrink up into your stomach. Have fun.

def go with the evo3 its such an awesome turbo..with tuning and the right mods you can easily hit that number. i hear ya about traction. boy do i wish i had an awd. except for when im rolling and do ppl dirty!

yeah that turbo is a real kick in the A$$ , you'll definitely know you made the right choice when you punch it W.OT for the first time. :thumb:

I just posted my results with the EVO3. Unfortunately I left my dyno sheets in the wrong car and I'll have it pasted tomorrow.

298whp/285ftlbs @ 14lbs with all of the supporting mods. Very conservative tune.

Got a log on that run?

WTF!? 14 lbs WTF PLEASE send me the link when you post the dyno sheets.

and spoolin4ever - ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL ROFL

bob - you WILL have traction problems. make sure you get a good suspension and good tires for that power you're making. plus 350 hp will translate to ~300 fwhp and is definitely achievable at 20-21 lbs. if you're looking at 350 fwhp i'd look into cams..

Well you are being a dick and i don't see whats so funny..... thats what ive read and you laughing really doesnt help much.

Here is what i read on a customer review on Extreme PSI where this guy says
also suggested: ball bearings instead of scroll bearings for even quicker spool up
this is a must have (refering to the upgradable bearings)

MrBentley - lighten up man. I only agreed because you misconstrued their information. Although it MAY be true that you can replace the bearings, it is neither cost efficient nor sensible for such an effort. my e316G spools up at low 3k and is a perfect street turbo.

now, if you're talking about a nonball bearing GT35 vs. a dual ball bearing GT35 [just an example, could be off] then there will be a big difference.

It seems to be the consensus that ball bearing isn't worth the money unless you don't have a budget to be constrained by. So don't get your panties in a ruffle MrBentley, I had to admit-- i laughed too. The evo3 16G is a mass manufactured turbo from MHI and is used as manufactured generally. Thats why it was amusing.

However. 300hp at 14psi is an awesome number, but not completely freakish.. i would expect 280 or so at that boost level, so 300 isn't unreasonable. At 24psi (was having wastegate opening issues) on an evo3 16G I was trapping 113mph-- since we don't have an awd dyno, the hp estimates are right around 385hp.

In any case, now that I have a 50 trim. I will say that the 16G was a waste of money. This is the turbo i should have gone with the first time around.

This is to all of the pecker head that doubt(ed) the power of the EVO3 turbo. :nono:
The best part of this dyno is that it's on 14lbs. LOL!
If I wanted to turn up the boost to...let's say...20lbs or 24lbs do you think that I would reach the 350whp or more goal? Of course!
So bob123131, if this is your ultimate goal of horsepower, then this turbo is yours. :)

If you read below the highlighted area, you'll see that is says " High Boost 14psi on MBC"

The 15lbs is for the "Baseline" run. Do you want me to explain that too? And yes I did have creep but that went away after I/we set it at 14lbs.

dont be an ass, it's very unbecoming

Thats impressive for a E316G I'll give you that but it dosent matter not like you can get much more out of it with pump gas.
When you are running 350whp on Pump gas with a 16G let me know, I'll fly and just to see it myself.

I hate small turbos yeah they spool quick but if you want to make Heat effictent power you'll need something larger.
2 Step with a large turbo is what its about. 12PSI and havent even started moving yet.

We made 319whp on pump on a Big 16g and 379whp on C16 like 5 years ago. I don't see 350whp on the EVO 16g with supporting mods on pump being a problem whatsoever.

I guess its just because I live 6800 feet above sea level and most people out think that the 16G is the God of all turbos.
Sorry about bashing on it so much.
We dont really see to many high numbers off of a 16G out here and most everyone that is running them thinks that 14PSI is KILLER HUGE ammount of boost.
Its hard hitting High WHP numbers when you have no air.
