DSMLink?

I am not, but a bunch of my friends are. So far they love it. A bit of getting used to, but the features and usability of it is phenomenal. Price is a bit much, but so far, they all think it is worth it.

I have it and all I have to say is get it if you an afford it. This is the greatest tuning tool ever created for a dsm (1st or 2nd gen). The things you can change and monitor are incredible. Due to the fact that it is java, people are constantly writing new routines and making adaptions. It really is an incredible product. Let me know if you have any more questions and I will be more than willing to help you out.

I also have and use it. Unfortunately I have had quite a few things fail, burn up, blow out on me in the last few weeks that I haven't use it to its potential yet. (read: haven't been to the drag strip yet this year, just 1 autocross)

So far so good. It really kicks ass. Its not a standalone nor does it try to be. It is a very good middle of the road app.

Seems to me that it is a standalone replacement for the masses. Not everyone is going to have a 10 seond DSM, but if you are modding your car, you want the best tuned car for the setup you got. DSMLink seems to be the best for the job. As close to a standalone as you can get without all the work.

Can't wait to get mine.

They are coming out with a palm version, if you don't want to go all out and get a laptop.

For what you sell your AFC and logger for is the cost of DSMLink itself. Then find a junkyard that doesn't know the value of an eprom and you are on your way!!

If you own a DSMLink, it's covered (kind of) in the DSMLink egroup.

Outside of that, nothing is available... since it's a DSMLink specific application.

i gotcha.. well maybe some day.. it would be nice to know though outside of the group becuase im sure alot more people would buy it like me that already have a palm if they dont have a laptop

The Palm app does ALL of the control and logging operations as the laptop.

I wouldn't base my buying decision on whether or not I needed a laptop simply because the product so good. It's one of those... if you need it, it's worth it... even IF you have to buy a laptop.

If you already have a Palm, and I mean a REAL Palm PDA with Palm OS 3.5 (or later), and it's color... you have it covered.

If you have a Visor or some other knock off, you're SOL (thank you Handspring for using rs422 instead of rs232).

An M100 works fine... but you don't have the benefit of different colors during charting... so it's hard to tell which line represents what engine variable.

On these types of PDA's, the digital display offers better information... but you lose the "trend" of the line charts.

some 95 Eclipse ECUs are Eprom meaning they are reprogrammable by flashing them. they have a little E decal in the corner of the ECU.. you need one of these to be able to use the DSMlink program becuase you are actually changing things in your factory ECU instead of confusing it with your AFC

This may be a dumb question and I did know but I can't think of it right now but where exactly is the ECU Located? Isn't it under the center console?

OK my turn for a dumb question.......
DSMlink: 95 ECU around $400 plus $695 for DSMlink software and then theirs shipping and down time blah blah blah, am I thinking correctly?

and theirs Haltech E6 whatever it's called now, full standalone for around $1000. Samething, NO? and it's NEW !!!!! mind you it still needs to be installed and tuned same as the DSMlink, no? Is this right or no?
DSMlink sounds awesome but, I guess when I spend like a GRAND I like NEW SH@T........
