Im thinking about buying a intake pipe but it does not have the Charcoal Canister Hose. Can I just vent that without any performance problems? Please help

Plug the canister hose at least. Gasoline fumes around your car is not a good thing. No, it won't hurt performance at all.

I'd take that with a grain of salt.

Modern EGR systems actually help out alot on a daily driven car with things like milage and driveability.

People automatically assume that emissions control systems hinder power output. Heh maybe on 1970's cars.

If your in one of those places where they are going after modified cars via letter of the law emissions (pases but controls modded = fail) or WOT testing keep as much of that stuff as possible. In fact I'd keep it anyway. It really does'nt hurt anything.

Loosing the evap wont gain any HP. You will cut some weight that is it. Not much weight either.

The way the smog and fun police are getting these days I'm leaving all pc devices in place.

Plus EGR actually decreases combustion chamber temps, allows more agressive ignition timing and improves milage.http://www.asashop.org/autoinc/nov97/gas.htm

Oh and about that intake pipe. It has a port for the VC breather right? Put a T inline and connect both of them to it. Then its done and all emissions control systems are still on.

errr.. panic attack! MNGSX I started reading the document you pointed out and a quote from there:
"If the EGR valve is not flowing, onboard diagnostics (OBD) systems will set a code and the power control module (PCM) will use a backup timing curve that has less advance to prevent engine ping. Less timing advance means less performance and economy."

could this be true with our cars?? I have always felt like it but no-one has ever said "blocking EGR reduces power and increases gas mileage" before!

Do you know why it lowers combustion temps? Because the exhaust gasses take up room that could otherwise be used for intake air and more fuel. They take up space that could be used to make power, essentially lowering VE.

I have had NO emissions stuff since I removed it over a year ago, and I don't regret it one bit.

However, I would suggest venting the Charcoal Cannister UNDER the car, because otherwise you will get a little bit of pressure inside the tank when it heats up. Trust me, I did.

kpt4321, you seem to have 1G so also that means OBD I is that right?

That is a very good point, yes. I was just making a general statement.

OBDII guys might have to be a little more careful. IIRC, some cars with throw a code, and some will not.
