Ok, well im not 100% sure of the size of the stock IC pipeing but i think it's 2 1/4" ?

ok well i am trying to plan my build up and im wondering how would changeing to 2.5" or even maybe 3" pipe effect the flow and pressure?

im takeing it 16 psi on larger pipeing would have a higher volume of air than 16psi on stock pipes.. but does anyone know by how much?

I ask becouse it will make it easier tuneing i suspect, and will help me know where to set it for it's first few runs before i start pushing it etc. i mean i dont want to set it at say 22psi and that be the same as 29+psi on most setups.

What im realy geting at is what would be the volume deference in flow (cfm) with 2.5 & 3" pipes vs avg hard piped setup. with a SBR GT-12 turno... not sure about what FMIC i want just yet...so sorry can't say on that.

There will not be a large difference in flow from 2.5 to 3 inch piping.

The stock pipes are UNDER 2 inches in diameter.

under 2"... damn.. guess it would be better to go with 2.5" pipes and a 3" GM MAFT then? I know alot of the good FMIC have 2.5" intakes and outputs so i guess that would be easier to connect everything..

or would 3" be better?

3 inch is very very much overkill.

2.5 or even 2.25 would probably be fine.

I recently was looking into the optimal IC pipe diameter recently and found a bunch of equations that told me in a nut shell.

YOU HAVE TOO MUCH TIME ON YOUR HANDS.

Kyle is right; however, you shold always leave a lil room for improvements so I would suggest going with a 2.5" UICP.

Thanks... and yea i do have WAY to much time on my hands...

sux cause all i have to do all day is study for my GED (which i dont do enough of) and sit right here and try to learn more about how to build a engine that will have higher outputs and last longer...

so i spend about 10 hr's a day on here and 2 hr's studying my ged and then hit the sack and start all over.. sux because i wont have a job untill AFTER i get the ged.. then i can get a job with my bro working 10-12 shifts for $10/hr starting pay.. (get alot of days off though :D ) and then i can start doing all this stuff to my car.. but untill then.. why not learn and plan eh?
