I got a 2G manifold with my Apexi EL EGT tapped into the #1 runner.

what kind of temps do you guys think are lean when tapped in that position?

I'm hearing of guys running 910 and saying that is perfect in that position and also in the Downpipe position. which is it?

I know that the exh temp changes like 10 degrees for every inch away from the output of the head, my guage is tapped at about 1.75" away from the that outlet.

I really need to know what I should look for, I'm pulling no knock at 930 and .87 volts, but I think my 02 sensor might be starting to go bad.

What should I look for when punching it?
what should I look for when driving highway speeds at 70mph?
so far I've been at 890 to 910.

I have another spot on my triple Apillar to put another guage, I'm think that another EGT in the DP might be a good idea, might help with tunning and would be interesting to see the differences.

Thanks for the replies

Don't waste the money on egt on the down pipe. it serve the same purpose as the on on the maifold.

1550F is the pretty much prime EGT you want to look for. That seems kinda close to the head, mine is tapped about 5" away from the head... I think 4-6" is where it is supposed to be.

Basically, that 890-910 sounds really quite good. That averages out to 900C, or 1550F.
I'm not sure since you are so close to the head if there is a difference, but right now you are doin pretty good it seems.

I thought 900*C is a big fat "NO NO"? I've read some other threads that guys say that you should stay away from 1650*F or 900*C? Correct me if I'm wrong because I'd like to have a straight forward answer myself.

900C is just a general rule of thumb. Most will tune there cars closest to that as possible generally speaking such that they are not seeing any knock. Apexi EGT's have been known to read higher than other's.
