Nova,
ok folks, well, a couple days ago I had a stock 1G mas, no fuel control of any sort, ford autolite platinum plugs and a base ignition timing of god knows what.

Now, I just took a couple spins around the block with the parts I just installed, which were a set of NGK bpr7es plugs (one colder than stock), a GM maf translator set up as a draw through (3" MAF with all dip switches set to no, the base knob on #2, which is -10%, or 500cc equivalent and all the other knobs on the 0 setting) I also set my base ignition timing to 5* BTDC with the (yes I grounded the ECU control wire).

My mods are a small 16G, O2 elim dp/ exhaust, FMIC, and I have 510cc injectors.

Now for the strange. I just went arond the block a few times with a conservative 10 psi. Now, the car felt somewhat flat, it didn't spool up any quicker than regular, and the throttle response was quite sluggish, I used to blip the throttle in my heel toe d/s and the motor would rev nicely, now, I tried it and I have to mash the hell out of the gas to get my revs to match.

I do have TMO, but I didn't bother logging it when I was going around the block, but when I do tomorrow....what parameters do I want to log? I'm still new at this :D .

why did you setup the MAF for draw and not blow? it's not any harder and it's less restrictive which is the whole point of doing it isn't it? that and then you can vent your BOV

but puting the MAF infront of the turbo could be half your problem.. otherwise just check over the install and all connections and make sure everything is good.

ripper maybe you should wait to answer questions about the MAFT until you get one yourself, not everyone wants it for the blowoff vent.

I on the other hand do have a MAFT and know that if it is not tuned properly it make your car sluggish. Check your base and idle settings. You might even want to reset the ECU, it might learn a little quicker. I personally had it set to rich and did some readjustment to have a much snappier throttle. I am still rich in the top end but I feel safer that way.

KEEP THE RUBBERSIDE DOWN :thumb:

ah, the tragically uninformed.

yea reset the ECU, pull some logs, and try switching the switch to 3.5" MAF, if that dont work put the injector settin on one leaner or richer, then tune from ther. mines 1 click leaner than stock.

It sounds like your fuel trims are out of whack. On the TMO, log hi, mid, and lo trim, O2 trim, throttle position, rpm, knock, timing, airflow Hz. Watch the O2 trim for large fluctuations, like 20% or more. Then check the other parameters to see when the O2 trim fluctuates, that should tell you what to adjust. Let us know how it goes.

uhm..I'm going to ignore that

Thanks for the info guys, I'll go do some logging and see what things look like and go from there.
