Just got my pocketlogger software today and made a couple of runs. There is a TON of stuff I need to learn about it, but here is my question. Do you normally log a run in any certain gear, or just through all gears? My 1st run was from 1st to beginning of 4th, and 1st gear had up to 20 counts of knock (right at spoolup), but all of 2nd and 3rd had absolutely no knock.
Also, I have a safc hooked up, but have not made any adjustments. I went to http://homeattbi.com/~tarryo/kyle/tuning.html for help w/ setting up my safc, but it said if you are not running an adjustable fpr (which I am not) with a 255 fp to NOT use the fuel tables below. Any reason why, and where can I start? I read the safc user book and I didn't really understand it.
Any help would be great, THANKS!!

You should log in third gear or higher, but usually it's tough to run out fourth, so most people do logs in third.

Do you have a 255 lph pump? If you do, then you are probably overrunning the FPR at idle, which will mean you need to remove fuel a lot more than you normally would.

What are your other mods?

You can still use the guidelines on my site to tune the low throttle map for the fuel trims, and then you can use the 3 and 4k rpm corrections to approximate what you want for WOT, and then you can tune from there.

Yes, I do have a Walbro 255. My other mods are (free), balance shaft elim., boost gauge, mbc, safc (untuned), and 2g MAS (uninstalled). I guess I am questioning running a afpr because my cousin has never ran one, and he ran a 12.28 on a 16g Killer last year, and recently dynoed well over 500 (I think like 538) on a fp 3065, all without an afpr. I will see him this weekend and question him about your reply, because I would agree w/ you.

well, i know you will need an afpr if you have the high pressure 255. it will over run the stock fpr and that is a proven fact on our stock fpr. anyways, i would start at at 0 across the board and take away fuel as you go. you are looking for the highest timing advance with the little to no knock.

The AFPR has nothing to do with the kind of performance you will see at the track or on the dyno. With a 255 lph pump, you will have overrun problems at idle and very low rpm's, but it will go away at higer rpm's.

If you are overrunning the FPR, then you will have trouble getting the fuel trims right at idle.
