ECMlink ECMLink won't respond

I am trying to help my friend get his gsx going. we just put in a 95 eprom ecu with V3 full chip. When i hit connect it goes threw everything and says connected but if i try to modify anything or start a log it says no response received i'm stumped can anyone chime in here.

Can you post a screenshot?
Do you see the green light on the cable blinking when you connect?

Forgot to check the cable but it 100% will say connected 2g V3 but wont let u do anything will just say no action received. It cant me any simple wire or fuse sense it does connect to the ecu and i know ecm link wont because of something small like that i don't even know were to begin looking. We also tried a different cable. I walked strait to my car with same cable same pc and connected and had no issues.

Do you have the latest firmware on the ECU and the latest software on the computer? Might be a newer firmware in your ECU than your friends.

i did not have the latest version it gave me a warning some functions might not work i just downloaded the newest 3.26.35 i think it said version i was running a 3.18 version

Ok...so you do have the latest version and it's still not connecting? Not quite understanding your posts.

Can you post a screenshot showing it being connected as well as the error?

I did not have the latest version at the time of having the problem. I downloaded the newest software and have not tried to connect yet. Could a older software version really cause problems like this?

The car does have a SAFC II installed could that create a issue?

Software/firmware versions could cause the issue.

S-AFC being installed won't cause a connection issue, but if there's settings still in the S-AFC, that will cause an issue when you go to tune.

SAFC is set to stock settings and well i will try it now and check the light on the cable see what happends.

downloaded newest software version and it fixed the problem.
