I have been thinking about running my ECM Link connector cable to one of these (see pic below) mounted below my radio in the empty din. The adapter is reversible. Then I will be running a USB, B to A ,both males ends to my lap top. I figured it would be easier to just plug it into the dash instead of running the cable across my legs every time, and have a clean look. If anyone has done this or has suggestions let me know.:thumb:

I actually located mine in the glove box. I have the ECMlink cable plugged in and run an extended USB cord to the glove box. Whenever I need to access my ecmlink I just open my glove box, pull the usb cord out and plug my laptop in, then just put the cord back in the box when I am done. It would be super awesome to have a retractable cord like vacuums have. I should look into that.

The way I have it set up is that there is a cord rather than a female outlet to plug into. Its a clean look since the cord stays in the glove box.

If I had it out the glove box then yes, I would use that outlet mount for a clean look.

Ive seen it under the 9 quarter coin holder. pull up the coin holder , pull out the cable, that should be plenty close for original cabel length. What I usually do in my other cars... anti-smoker... run it to the ash tray, and coil it up in there. open the tray with 2-3ft coiled up ready to go.

Here is a pic of what I finally came up with for my Ecm-link dash plug.:thumb:

Those are some pretty sweet setups! I just have my cable underthe cup-holder/ash-try, with a small circle cut through the overlapping plastic beside the e-brake handle, that way i cna put the cup-holder back in with the cable out and it sits flush, and being biehind the e-brake lever you cna't tell it's cut away at all unless you are looking across the seat from butt-level with the brake pulled.

I have seen (in a 2g) on my friends car where you open the ash tray and his ECU plug is right there (USB also) and he also has his switches for the bottle heater, bottle opener and the main arming switch for the laughing gas..pretty nice setup there as well.

A nice area i've found for things is under the aftermarklet radio since there's the room left from going from double DIN to single din decks
