Here's the deal my buddy has a 2g eclipse with dsmlink he takes it to a place and has it tuned, he doesn't want to mess with it just drops it off and picks it up. The problem he is having is every time he unhooks his battery he has to get the damn thing tuned again,"no memory on the 2g ecu?" they charge him to plug in and reload his tune, is there a fix for this? I don't mess with to many 2g but that sounds kind of ridiculous to me. any tech savvy 2g guys soldered a watch battery to the ecu or anything like that LOL any help appreciated

Why doesn't he just save the tune to his laptop and hit the button himself? It's about the simplest thing in the world. Nowhere near as hard as setting the VCR to record Dallas so you can find out who shot JR.

haha set the VCR. but yea it is alot easier to just save all the settings on the laptop, or even back it up, so if anything happens to the hard drive it's still saved somewhere.

LOL:applause: idk he just doesn't want to mess with it. I was thinking about saving his tune and charging him LOL

Unfortunately, before we added persistent storage options in V3, the only option we had on the 2Gs was battery-backed RAM. Which meant when the battery was disconnected, the settings were reset.

I can either offer to burn a new V2-style chip for him with the settings he wants in there as battery reset defaults (basically a copy of his tuned settings) or he can upgrade to V3. Either way will get him what he needs. You'll need to have him (or you or whoever) contact me offline to arrange this.
