I had starting issues and resolved them myself. Now I have another problem:

I had the clutch cut line wired into the ecu and the clutch sensor. I had no problems with it. Now that I have my problems fixed, the car will start but it's as if the ECU is reading the car is launching. So as soon as I start the car it tries launching (revving to 4500-5000rpms like its supposed to do WHEN ENABLED). I need to know why it's doing this when I to start the car. I no longer have the clutch cut wire installed and wire capped the factory lines the way they should be. I logged a couple of tries.

Sounds like your throttle cable is not adjusted right.

Well, it will shoot up and begin the "2 step" launch control and then after it does it for 2-4 secs it will just shut off.

So if it's seeing throttle, then shouldn't it keep continuing the launch?

Prior to fixing my other problems, I did notice the butterfly had stuck. I don't know what caused this, but I turned the butterfly myself and loosened it back up. I believe it was frozen from not being used in so long. IT does remain un-stuck now though and open with the slightest push of the throttle.

Interesting. I am also talking to ECMLink officials to help me get through this and he showed me how to enable the throttle position percentage on a log. I am reading 28% on closed and only 87% on WOT.

How do I go about fixing this?

im trying to find out what the clutch cut wire is for, I did not install it yet, and i am trying to find out if that is the reason why i am hitting the launch control while driving threw the gears.

That's peculiar. The clutch-cut wire is for NLTS (no lift to shift). It makes shifting faster while going down the strip as you don't have to let off the gas pedal at all while shifting.

It's also supposed to enable you to be able to use the launch control (or I thought), but apparently it doesn't have to be installed to use launch control as mine is off and when I try to start it's acting like launch control is enabled and hitting the 4500 set launch limit. By off, I mean completely out and back to factory wiring with the help of a wire cap of course. ;)

If you want a guide or picture by picture, I can make one for you tomorrow in my down time if you are planning on installing. :hellyeah:

that would be cool but im pretty sure that i can handle it by the reading on dsmlink forums, i just didnt think that i needed to install it. you can log on and turn the launch off.

What version do you have? On my v2.0 I can't find that anywhere.

WOOOOOT!!! 8 months of relief! Got it fixed!!! YESSS!!!!

Clutch cut wire explained

Would the OP of this thread mind posting the resolution of this problem? It seems like a major intake leak after the throttle body or a throttle cable issue holding the throttle open. But I'd like to know what it took to finally get it resolved for sure.

After talking to Thomas Dorris about my situation, he showed me how to capture more values in a Data Log. I have the mechanical stuff down pat, but I'm still learning about what all Link can do. :thumb:

So, I took the information he gave me and captured the throttle position. I was reading 28%-87% (closed-WOT). I then began tracing steps as to what is causing my throttle position to be wrong.

I changed out my TPS's. Nothing. So out of the blue I decided to take my TB off.

{The day before, I grabbed my (throttle cable holder and spring) and turned the butterfly myself because inside the car the gas pedal was stiff. It acted like it was real stiff and scrunched ( < always great right? :banghead: ) BUT it loosened up and therefore I thought it was fixed, until seeing the throttle position.}

After inspecting the TB, I noticed the gasket that is on the TB/SMIM side. It was completely mangled. So apparently it had hung itself on the (throttle cable holder and spring). I had another TB/SMIM gasket, installed, put back the UICP, battery, etc. and tried her out. BAM! I am now reading 0-1% closed and 97% WOT.

She finally breathed again since 8 months. I didn't have any of the auxiliary belts on so it idled right at 3k rpms. I let her warm up to operating temperature for a few minutes to to re-lube everything up.

Thanks guys,
Jake :rocks:
