hey guys i have a 95 esi and i want to get a datalogger or a pocketlogger, whats the difference or whatever, what is the best one to get. do i have to buy a palm pilot or something to use one, any help would be awesome, thanks.

2G has a couple choices but they all do the same thing since you are limited by the OBDII standard. I have and use the Alex Peper logger. The cable is a little cheap, but it works fine and does it's job great. Costs like $100. tell him you are will CLub DSM. His is the cheapest around. There is also Easesim. it costs 2-3 times more, but is aesthetically pleasing where as the Alex Peper logger looks like a DOS app converted to 32bit. Fuctionality is what you should look for and any one of the loggers will do. Whether you want to use a Palm or not is another motivating factor.

Good luck.

damn i confused now, i went to that 1st site you listed, do i just get software and a cable for 175 bucks? how does it read the data and ****, i have a palm pilot but how do i know if it will work with this stuff.

well i ordered a pocketlogger and palm from pocketlogger.com should be here soon, thanks for all your help. later.

Not the one for the 2G... at least not that I know of. You need some kinda chip for the connector. I know I amsaying that wrong. One of my electrican friends explained it to me. You need to somehow program something. i think it is the connector.

Don't forget TunerStein, http://206.124.12.138/codsm/tunerstein/ . They also tell you how to make a cable. They even include software to play "what if" scenarios, you can adjust settings and see what other settings change (don't know how accurately). Seems to be a decent product feature wise, I'm thinking of giving them a shot.
