Can a failing AFC cause start up and idle issues?

I just finished swapping heads on my 1g gst and after installing headgasket timing belt etc. i started the car and idled fine, rev the motor up fine with no hesitation, prior to the swap the gst had a b16g on 550cc injectors, safc I,2g mas, walbro 195 rewired. after the head swap I installed the stock turbo, stock 450's, but kept the rest of mods on the car. After starting the car 4 times with no problems with the idle, I decide to zero out afc settings because they were previously tuned for the 550's on the b16g so i figured the car was running way too rich. after doing this i immediately start the car again and now has a harder time starting when cold, and doesn't idle until it is warmed up, once its warmed up the car runs ok and boosts but has a very slight hesitation at wot.

My question is did my adjustments on the afc I cause this? because prior to adjusting the afc settings it started and idled smoothly, after adjusting the settings it seem like almost different car..? is this a coincidence or is something else causing my issue...? also i noticed the the rpm reading on the afc is about 300 too 400 rpm lower then what my stock tach reads...? Can afc's malfunction like this? whatdo u guys think....thanks in advance for any advice.....

by the way i've triple checked timing and is dead on, and the weird thing is none of these issues developed until i messed with the afc settings
