Does dsmlink let you set up closed loop o2 feedback? Meaning that I can target say 15:1 or 16:1 for closed loop low load driving for better gas mileage? I would like to mess with lean burn type of tuning but dont know if link is capable of it.

I beleive tunerpro is and the AEM is also but since I just happen to have an Eprom Ecu laying around I thought I might want to experiment with link. If it can do it then maybe I would sell the AEM and go link, I need to do some more research on the tunerpro/ ostrich setup.

Sounds like DSMLink maintains 14.7 to 1 in closed loop.

From DSMLink forum:

"In closed-loop mode, the ECU is using feedback from the O2 sensor to maintain 14.7:1. The O2 sensor is effectively controlling the A/F ratio; altering airflow or fuel adjustments will be canceled by fuel-trim adjustments in the ECU (unless the adjustments are so out of whack that the ECU can't compensate)."

Dsmlink will always try to target 14.7:1 like the factory. Advancing the timing will get you better gas maileage. This is because the fuel will ignite sooner which means you will be using the fuel more efficiently

You might want to look into Hal Landry's version of DSMLink for Palms. Although DSMLink could be capable of running lean-burn, the fact of the matter is that it is NOT legal, because lean burn would increase NOX emmisions. Hal's version for Palms might have a few extra features you would find very interesing. If you bought link, you will find a section in the forums to download Hal's version. Not that I would know anything about that.

As correct as you are... I think altering the ECU in any direction is pretty much NOT legal... Look under the hood of 90 percent of DSMtuner member's cars and I bet you will find at LEAST one illegal item :D

This could be useful for future searches but as far as my set up goes I did some experimenting today with my AEM and it actually seems really easy and straightfoward for closed loop o2 feedback. Not to mention target AFR and so forth. THanks for the info though guys helpful as always.

Since you have a 1g why not just lock the o2 sensor/fuel trims and then tune it to whatever mixture you want?
