hey guys my gsx ecu is jacked, so i bought a 97 gst ecu, i was reading some threads and no one has one about if they are good to got on 97-99's without CAS problems, i'm nbot worried about speed limiter i'm not planning on going over 80 or 90 anyway, lemme know whats up guys.
 
The 97 GST ECU will swap into the 99 GSX without any problems, until it comes time to pass emissions. You're in CA so you will probably have to pass the OBD-II test. The 97 ECU is notorious for not setting the readiness monitors, failing the test. Many 97 owners solved the emissions problem by putting a 99 ECU in their DSM. The 99 ECU code made it easier for the smog systems to set the readiness monitors. Check out this thread:
