knock with wastegate dump??

I JUST installed a keydiver stage 3 chip with a knock sum gauge instead of the boost gauge. As soon as I build boost, the knock gauge gauge shoots up.
Is it possible that my o2 housing with a wastegate dump is being picked up as knock??
I have a brand new mitsu knock sensor.

91 oct, 14b, about 15 psi, stock fpr, evo IX fuel pump, milled head, 2g mas, pte 780cc injectors(I have a larger turbo waiting to go on, hence the large injectors) and nothing else to tune with besides the chip. I bought a logger to use, but when it go here, the batteries were corroded and the contacts in the palm came apart, so after xmas I'll be buying a new one.

EDIT: Oh yeah, I had to replace the oring on the CAS, and I won't have a timing light til tomrrow. I put it back as close as possible. I had base timing set to 8 deg previsouly.
And I have a new set of BPR7ES plugs gapped to 28-30

Well, actually the boost was about 16-17 psi. I had to turn it down to 12-13 psi to have a reasonable amount of knock in 3rd(5 or less). In 4th(14psi), it was still pegging the knock sum. I guess I'll get the timing light on it tomorrow, and set base timing at 5 BTDC, and go from there.
This is my 1st time at anytime of tuning. If it's already knocking at 13 psi, how in the world am I going to run higher boost??
If I want less knock, these are my choices, right?? less boost/less timing/more fuel/more octane/meth.
I'm pretty sure I'm not running out of fuel with an evo IX fuel pump(soon to be rewired), new fuel filter, and pte 780cc injectors.

I guess I'll just wait til I buy my logger to see what's going on.

Give us the specs of the chip. Is it compensating for the injectors, what target afr is the chip at? Does it have the maf compensation? Also is the timing still stock 1g map?

The advanced timing could be your problem. 1g's already have aggresive timing maps.

On a small side note...You didn't over tighten the knock sensor did you?

Ok, here's the info on the chip
7800 rev limit/6000 nlts

750cc injectors(I have pte 780cc) 288uS dead time
stock 2gmas (This is correct, not hacked and all fins straight)
1000 RPM idle
A/C cutout
no airflow cap
37 psi fpr (stock 5 speed turbo fpr on the car)
10.7:1 open loop afr
%30 expanded maps for 91 oct and milled head with 17 deg advance on top map.

I set the base timing just JUST under 5 deg and on the way home at 12 psi saw very little to no knock

And if there's a chance that I overtightned the knock sensor, then those odds are very good. Let me go look up the torque spec.....
I can't seem to find it. I'll search. If it's not very much torque, then I did iver torque it.

I hope I figure something out cause there's no point in having anything bigger than a 14b if I can't keep the knock away.

wow. 17 ft/lbs. I sure did overtorque it. I'll fix that tomorrow, up the boost and try again.

I have 2g timing maps.
after retorquing the knock sensor at 13 psi.
still just a tiny bit of knock in 3rd, and a little more in 4th.
seems like with 13psi on a 14b and 2g timing maps I shouldn't even be close to having knock.


I guess this is worthless til I get a looger or wideband. I'm going to see if I can log with a mutt 2(mitsu scantool)
