hey guys i recently just got a aem uego air fuel gauge. I tapped the o2 sensor 36 inchs from the source so pretty much right behind my 3" flex pipe.

i hooked up just the red and the black wire to a 10a fused power supply(my cig lighter), and left the blue and white wire alone.

Took the six clip harness and plugged it into the sensor, and now it just reads 14.8 like wtf solid,

if the sensor was bad wouldnt it just read --- or would it be 14.8 also i think my mechanic welded the bung on using the o2 sensor as a holder.... could teh extreme tack weld that held it in place the first time make it read like this.

Could i have a exhaust leak at my o2 housing meets my downpipe? if it is a exhaust leak wouldnt it read wrong at least read something? Can the six plug harness on the back of the guage come out and read 14.8 like what happens when you just hook up the power wires and not the sensor wires and its on p00 or whatever i have a 2g dsm

Check the connector at the sensor again. I had the same problem after some trans work and the sensor plug was not completely clipped closed. once I got that connection solid everything was fine.

The other possibility is the little white plug that goes into the back of the gauge, they do not snap into place very well and can pull loose when re-mounting the pillar pod.

i mean if it was just disconnected would it still read 14.8 or something else? can somwhon please go out to the car and unhook the sensor wire from the guage and see what it displays

Here's an easy way to tell that your sensor is good or bad (i should know, i've killed 3 of them LOL)

Turn your key from acc to on, but don't ignite your car. Watch your gauge. It should start really rich and start to lean out. It should read 13 then 14 then 15 then 16 then 17 then " - - ". That means your sensor is reading "free air" at idle. That means your sensor is good.

If it just stays on 14.8 the whole time, then your sensor is bad or not hooked up.

To my knowledge you only use one of the tuning wires (depending on if you're logging). If you're not logging, you should not have to hook up either blue or white wires.

ok well yea i dotn start my car and the guage does thru its startup and then just stays 14.8 nothing else every once in a while it reads 14.7 then back to 14.8 i had really greasy hands when i did the ocnnection between the sensor and the harness could i have gotten dirt in the connection and if so what do i do to clean it ?

ok so if i rub the alch on the swab and clean the connection and it still stays at 14.8 then my sensor is trashed and i should get another one ?

guys is it possible for the guage to read wrong cause of a pin being bent or anything? cause i know this sensor is good and i know for sure its 36 inchs away and at the right ten degree angle..

i mean if i hook this unit up to my maft gen II im pretty sure it should not read 14.8 cause im getting mad as hell LOL i erally need this car tuned BAD
