AEM WB Sensor fried??

my alternator was overcharging my bettery to 16+ volts and before it was doing that my wide band work fine.... after the overchage the wideband won't read i step on the gas it reads real quickly and then goes flat .... could it be the sensor?? or is the guage blown out??

I bent the sensor and it blew the gauge. It seems they are sensitive and not fully protected, so it's possible that too much voltage could cause problems. I called AEM and they told me to send it in. With shipping it was about $100.00 to fix.

Unplug the sensor from the gauge, if the gauge reads 14.7, then it's most likely a bad sensor.

well its a old post i had but wanted to let others know that these damn AEN wideband O2 sensors go bad!! don't know what made it go bad but i had to replace the sensor. it was reading about 14.8 all the time. if it didnt read 14.8 it didnt read anyting at all.
