Can I do the same type of tuning with both? Other than one using a lap top and the other using a PDA are there any differences? Does anyone have any preferances? I will be getting one soon, and would like any input.

The palm you can only get about 10-14 samples per second. The lap top is faster on receiving info and youll probably get twice if not more samples per second using the lap top. But, lap top is a bit too big and kinda hard to mount while racing. They both do the job.

What are you talking about? The problem is not with the laptop or Palm, it's OBDII on 2G. For 1G OBDI, I get 55+samples/sec on the pocketlogger.
