airflow 2g maf vs. 3"gm
purely on airflow if i upgrade from 1g maf to:
2g maf + dejon intake
3"gm maf + maft + dejon uicp
i heard that a 2g maf gets 20% more airflow than a 1g. 2g being the cheaper solution, what numbers can i get on a gm maf.
btw im planing to get an emanage so i dont care maft tunning abilities.

gm maf is pretty hard to install and takes a lot of modification. 2g mas is simple as shit and will flow all the air you need to get the power you want. I know a guy pushin 400 on a 2g maf and the ugliest home depot silicone reducer intake i have ever seen.

GM maf is NOT hard to install. It's not more work then 2G MAF.
If you already have UICP, the cut it and use 3"-2" reducers, otherwise get a pipe made for MAF. Wiring is as easy as 2G MAF. May be easier.
One of the main benefits of GM maf, is it's blow-through ability. That means that any boost leaks/BOV etc.. problems in the piping do not alter your AFR.

The GM MAF could also be used in draw through configuration in place of your stock maf. It's plug and play but would require the use of a different air filter, but so does a 2gmaf. Simple plug in installation plus 1 wire tap is all you will have to do.

 Duh..
Of course you need a translator. When people refer to GM MAF, the really mean GM MAFT.
The whole point is that it's very easy to hook up a traslator. (plug-n-play plus one wire tapped).

well no... most likely if you use the GM MAF before the turbo like our stock maf's you'll have to get a intake hard pipe, hence why he recomends you to get another filter, because the sotck one will not work, although if you're creative and have time and a local home depot you can get around that, But more people (myself included) like to use the GM Maf on a blow thru setup, wich is getting upper intercooler piping, reducers, and such, but its all about your budget and way you like your setup.
And and all, the MAFT flow alot better than the 2g maf
