I've been looking around this site (and others) to find info. for developing torque with a 4g63t. Lots of stuff on horsepower, but nothing on torque.

I have a 95 Talon TSI with mild modifications. It is a daily driver, so most of the time I am shifting between 3000-4000 RPMs. What mods are most effective at increasing the power in this band? I am going to guess that I will hear 20g or 16g turbo, and FMIC. What I am curious about is does anyone know any less common tricks? I read somewhere that increasing the intake length BEFORE the MAF will increase the low end power -is this true? I know that increasing the intake manifold length should work as well, but I haven't heard anything significant about this.

Any thoughts/suggestions?

Thanks,
Eric

the factory manifold is as good as it gets for low end power.....

a 20g is too much for low end power.... 16g would be about right

the larger the turbo you have the less torque the motor produces..(a 16g with 300 whp may have 320wtq) where as a t3.t4 with 330whp may have the same 320wtq....

if you want low end power trade in for a camaro or mustang

I used to have a Camaro! I think I got spoiled by V8 torque, although I enjoy my Talon more.

Thanks for the info. on the turbos. 320 wtq is good. I had a feeling that I was wishing for too much.

Just because you make less torque does not mean you can't accelerate faster. Torque is the measurement taken by a dyno, horsepower is a calculation off of torque, that's why the hp and tq curves always cross at 5252rpm.
