Ok, I've just about had it with this car. My love for dsm's is slowly turning into hatred. I have a 91 TSi fwd, been working on it for the past two years building up the motor and whatnot. Now that its all done, I cant get the damn thing to run right. It idles high, roughly 1K rpms, timing is around 5 btdc, and I can't figure out how to tune it. I'm good mechanically but not with numbers and percentages. I have a safc and a maft as well as a datalogger (mmcd and palmnstein). I have read the numerous posts on the internet but its really all greek to me. Im not the type that learns from reading, I need instruction LOL. So with that said I am willing to pay someone to come over and help me tune my car. In the 2 years I have had it it has only gone around the block once. (mostly due to building the motor up). If anyone is feeling up to the task let me know what info you need and I will tell you what the car has. If I cant find anyone to help me I will either sell the car or part it out. Being 25 I just dont have the time to screw around like I did when I was in high school.
The car is located in NC almost right at the NC/VA state line.

On another note, would tuning be easier with an aem ems than it is now with the safc/maft/datalogger ? (i'm thinking its not)

i idle at 1k rpm with 650's. take it to a shop and pay them if you cant understand how to tune. im only 17 and it didnt take more than a few hours to understand what to look for in my logs, also the people on these boards are a great help.

send me some info via pm on your car...i will try to help you get it to idle right seeing as how i have helped tune alot of dsms with different setups....

thanks

tuneing gets WAY harder with a standalone ( ya gota Set EVERY dam thing )
ALOT of people idel @ 1k.. id prob flat'n out the maft translator and work with the afc. .
those really shouldnt effect idle that much.

im sure ya cranked your BISS in all the way ? checked for vacume leaks?
