I'm throwing this out there so I can be sure to give as much notice as possible. If you are even remotely interested in rally racing and know your way around a garage, then chances are good that you can be a very much appreciated member of a rally team for a weekend and get a taste of this lifestyle.
There is no other form of motorsport like rally. Prescott will have opportunities to volunteer for teams service crews, where you have fifteen minutes to troubleshoot and repair a rally car before it has to be back out on stage, and for the event, where you might be helping with time control stops or keeping a section of road blocked off so the rally cars can fly past you at 100mph or more.
I went to this event last year and I've been hooked ever since. The event usually arragnes severely discounted room rates (I've heard as low at $20 a night) at the main hotel and some teams will comp their crew's accommodations and meals, meaning you could spend a weekend working (more like playing, really) rally and spend only gas to get to Prescott.
There will be an after party as well. Give it a try and you will be hooked like me.
I would be more than happy to answer any questions anyone might have, but I'm hoping to see some DSMers in Arizona possibly step up to the plate and show an interest in helping out.
Thanks.
