Hello i recently got a 92 auto gsx. I am new to the dsm world, my other car is a srt4. I have the following mods on the gsx, Turbo xs rfl bov, mhi big16g, 550cc injectors, sbr mbc, safc, ported evo3 manni, smic upper hard pipe, translab shift kit, walbro 255 lph. My goal with the 1g is 350ish hp and maybe 12sec 1/4. Please let me know if there is any tuners in the area

I am thinking about going to Jville on Friday to run my car. Are you going to Coastal Plains any time soon? I'm not at all familiar with SAFC tuning so I don't know how much help I will be...

sweet ill be there man pm me for my number before you go. I have been looking for someone to help me mod/tune this car.

Alright. I just have to order another WG spring, install it and make sure I have enough E-85 to mix in my tank. I am shooting for a high 11 and I gotta make sure everything is in order. I can't go just to run another mid 12.

I hear ya i dont wanna run mine til i get a good tune from someone i trust i wonder what i would run tho? Where do you get e85 from? I hear about everyone running e85 id like to check into this.

I got it from a friend that was coming into town. He was driving thru Florence, SC so I asked him to pick me up some.

Here is the website for E-85 locations.National Ethanol Vehicle Coalition (NEVC) and E85 You got any hookups at Camp Lejune? They got E-85 there. :thumb:

I called Charlie C's in Benson and they said they do have it. I am gonna take 5-5gal cans up there next weekend and fill them up. Thats why I run a blend and not straight E-85. I would go thru it way too fast since the closest station is 100 miles from me. 70% pump & 30% E-85 is getting me 23-24* peak timing running 12.3 AFR & 28 psi, so I am definitely happy and should get a high 11 on Friday.

yea im on base but i never knew that i could get it here LOL. Im really in need of a tune and ill check out carolina dsm thanks for that info.

You got a logger, laptop or a palm pilot? You're gonna need something to datalog in order to get a good tune. Ideally a WB also, but for now you can go off the frt O2 & knock. I am spoiled by using DSMLink, but I should be able to help some.

Do you think they would sell you E-85 on the base or does it not work like that? Did you by chance know Derek Liebfried? He was a mechanic on base until recently. He just moved to Cali or I would have put you in touch with him...

yea i have a logger that wont turn on i got it like that tho. I have heard from everyone that i should get a afpr is that true?

Oh yea the E85 deal is in the works so ill keep you posted on it. What kind of gains did you see from using that mixture and tuning?

All I have right now is 70-90 mph times and the timing that I can run, but hopefully I will add a nice high 11 sec run on Friday. :rocks:

Before E-85 blend: ~19* & 2.1-2.2sec 70-90mph

After E-85 blend: 22-23* & 1.8-1.9sec 70-90 mph

So thats about .3-.4 sec improvement, which will get me a 11.99 even if the rest of the run didn't get better.

An AFPR is recommended with a 255 fuel pump. It flows enough to overrun the stock fpr @ idle.

yea that is a hell of a difference. I just want a consistant low 13 sec on this setup with a fpr then ill do a fmic and cams and shoot for 350hp. I just am scared to run it the way it is i dont wanna damage anything because the guy said he did a basic tune at 18psi but idk bout that.
