Who would go to a meet at the Super Autobacs up in LA once it starts to warm up a bit on a Saturday. Just curious as they have meet sign ups. I know it's quit a drive but at least it gives me a reason to drive up there to an awsome store. And who know maybe extend it to more than just us DSMers.

I used to go but not anymore. It got boring after smoking everybody there. Mostly hondas and ricers and the store never has dsm parts in stock at all. Sometimes some nice cars show up like evos and some 260z's and such but most of the time it gets very crowded and the cops pick on anyone and everyone.

Well if it is easier I can suggest maybe like a BBQ / pot luck type a deal around Mission beaches close to sea world

this of course would be around spring time or on a warm weekend.

Yeah, there are better places to meet up at man. Superautobacs should be called supericerbacs because that is all they cater to. Go in there and speak about tuning or anything like that and you'll get a blank stare. They charge 450 for an SAFC2?? Pot luck seem like a great idea. Where you planning this.

Im thinking maybe E mission bay drive @ leisure lagoon I have a portable propane grill so we can do up some stuff as well. I'm gonna keep my eye on the weather and hope my company dont send me on travel.

I didn't realize your tag says orange county, so to make it fair I could maybe find someplace in oceanside to hold a BBQ

Hey guys where I live its cool the cops don't mess with u unless u are doing brunouts like the honda guys do but other then that I live in hemet about 20 miles from oceanside its a cool lil town and a great place to have a meet hit me up and lets make it happen.

Hey guys,

I'm in LA for a few days and being the car guy that I am, i'd like to do something car related.

Only thing i can think of is checking out super autobacs. Is it worth it?

If so, which one is better (if there is a difference)? Covina or Stanton?

Happy New Year

Thanks guys!!!!!!

The only thing I buy at super autobacs is redline gear oil. its not really worth it just to go check it out IMO. There is a monday night meet in Norwalk. If your still here by then you should go check it out.

Ok, thanks man!!!!!!! Im leaving sunday night to go back to Philly unfortunately.

I dont know of any difference between the 2 shops. I do know that when I lived in Japan those were the places to shop for all of your DIY automotive needs. As I was reading one of my Japanese Option magazines I found an article that said Show-up garage has opened up around LA, it is a very well known shop in Japan and supporters on the SEMA auto show circuits.

Up Garage is sick, I saw an in depth walk around of the store in JDM insider (jdm car dvd) and they had everything, literally EVERYTHING; From HKS turbos to Nardi steering wheels :)

I will have to go check it out. I really loved the quality in thier work when they worked on my van in Japan, I do hope that same professionalism has been carried on over to here as well.

I doubt it will be like that here in the states tho, this was one of their stores in japan.

I have been to meets at super autobacs and it is a pretty cool place. I used to be stationed in Diego and I sure wish there were some meets while I was down there. I would got to SA for a meet, its about an hour drive for me depending on the traffic.
