Ok, looks like we found a new official spot for the Weekly Friday Nite Riverside Car Meet. It will be held at the New Hooters on the Riverside/Moval boarderline. We actually have permission to be here, so please lets not ruin it this time with Burnouts, Drifting, Reving, Alchohol, Drugs, Weapons, or Fighting. With time, hopefully it can get as big as the other Riverside meet was. The parking lot is huge and is perfect for this type of Event, and once again. WE HAVE PERMISSION TO BE HERE :D So there should be no harrassment. Hope to see you out there.

Time= 8:00pm every Friday

BTW Please help expand the meet by telling everyone you know, and by posting it up on every forum or website (Example: Myspace.com) that you can think of. Thanks and hope to see you there.

Their meets are just as far, for what I've seen. If you know of some meets that are closer i would love to know about them. I just moved here and don't know whats all around here so any help is greatly appreciated.

Check out TotalEclipsed in San Diego, we(LADSM) meet up with the S.D. guys once in a while for BBQ's

there is a meet in tustin on thursdays. Thats about an hour or so away from you. But there arent that many dsm's that go. Well there wasnt when I used to go.

Just tried to googlemap that, and it says that address is way off south of the map in the OP. Might show up tonight, if I get done with a bit of work beforehand and get some good directions.

well...my buddy and I are gonna be there, we both drive 2gs. I'm also bringin a friend with a SVT focus.

ive been going the past 2 or 3 times its fun lots of high horsepower mustangs. im the only 1g:toobad: and there are a few 2gs and some quick evos hope i see some more DSMs come say whats up im in the green 1g

The address is 6225 Valley Springs Pkwy, Riverside, CA 92507 for anyone using Googlemaps.. it got confused with 'Valley Spring'.
Looks like I won't be making it tonight, took way too long getting the back subframe of a crappy Accord back in, and with an hour-and-change drive everyone will probably have already left by the time I get there.

It was a good turnout. There was a white 2g talon that sounded like it was cammed. There was a cop that rolled through videotaping everything, and then posted up waiting for people to speed out/in. I took off early cause I didn't wanna find out what was gonna happen :D.

Can they bust us for just chillin in a parking lot?

So long as you don't have permission from the owner, it can be counted as loitering or suspicious behaviour. With permission from the owner (not the staff or business owner, the actual property owner) there's nothing they can do. Hell, they can't even ticket on speeding or burnouts *inside* the parking lot, as at that point it's like doing donuts in your back yard. If you had a huge, asphalt paved back yard. Any noise complaints go to the owner if it's after 10pm.

But if it's just the Hooters staff that have said okay, and the property owner has previously given permission for the police to enforce safety and abatement laws on that particular property, they can roll up and tell everyone to leave with no reason given. It's kind of a pain in the ass the way that works.
Loitering laws kinda run right up against the constitutional 'Right to Assemble' in this case.

hmmmm....yeah. Well, I'm kinda scared, cause the cop that was video taping I guess was trying to get all the license plate numbers, and he drove right behind my car first. So, I hope I don't get a ticket in the mail. :(

did any one else go to this?

even if you did get a ticket in the mail, you never signed like in a regular ticket promising to appear, kinda like red light tickets, how do they know you ever got it in the mail???

As far as the noise after 10pm, not true. They can complain anytime, 2 pm, 3 pm, etc...

The police do not know if you have perission or not from the property owner. I did a burn out in front of chippie in a private lot, gave me the dirtiest look, but drove away.

Of course I didnt know he was there:coy:

so im going this weekend finally for the first time my car is like somewhat ok presentable not totally embarrassing status ha ha. who else will be going?
