ok im doin a 90eclipse motor swap into a 96 eclipse swap. the motor mounts dont line up. seeking advice. also do the wiring harness line up or should i pull the wiring harness from the other car. im new to the dsm so all help iz greatly appreciated......thanx

Why are you doing the swap? The 2gnt has the 420a motor and the 1gnt has the 4g63NT motor in it. 2 completely different engines with very different motor mounts. Sorry to say its a waste of time if you have already pulled the engines apart.

How is New Jersey a part of Socal? haha j/k

Dude, if you had done any kind of search, you would've read, that it's basicly impossible. Not saying it can't be done, but it's a waste of time and money. With all the time and money that it would take to complete the swap, you could have yourself a fully built 420a with turbo, or if not your taste, you could go with the 4g63 awd platform.

Don't listen to them. It's not hard. I have the 6 bolt swap in my car too. I have a 1991 motor in my 1995 Talon TSI. As a matter of fact, the 91 motor a Non-turbo. Initially I had the 2g turbo on it but the seals were bad so I put a 1g turbo in it now. the main things are that you have to rewire the cam angle sensor and crank sensor. ALSO- KEEP THE 7 BOLT INTAKE!! VERY IMPORTANT!! Plug off all of the vacuum lines (except the blow off valve vacuum line if it's turbo). I had to undo my wiring harness to get some sensors where they needed to be. I just put new wire loom and tape on all the wires. It's really not hard. Knowing nothing about DSM motors me and two of my friends did this swap in 6 days. Make sure to keep your 2g alternator also or you will have to plug off the green and white wires and rewire the red and yellow one since it goes from a 2 to 4 wire plug. The motor mounts in my car bolted right up. The only one we even really had a problem with was the driver side one because you have to change the pulley in the timing belt to the 2g pulley because the motor mount comes off of it.

This thread is 9 months old, I'm sure the OP has had their question answered.

Hmm.... So, you put a Turbo 4g63 motor from a 91 TURBO DSM into a 2G TURBO car? Yeah, thats doable... People do it all the time.

The original poster was asking how to put either a NON TURBO or a TURBO 4G63 motor into a car that has a 420a motor in it. Thats what everyone was commenting on. :tease::p
