well i finally got my afc2 installed.. had it done here locally over at Pro Street in Hayward.. John made it seem simple since he only took a few minutes.. :thumb: but im sure it was cause he was following his own write up:

:p

dont mind the pic.. i was messing arond with the knocking feature.. i do have a 2G.. and i dont know if it works or not.. but apparently it does cause the numbers were cycling? i have a 95.. 94 build date.. dont know if that has anything to do with it..

after the install.. went out and tuned.. john did one hell of a job cause it feels like a whole different car.. its like night and day.. i always knew tuning was a crucial part.. now this just proved it with my car..

thanks a bunch to John and PSI for doing a great job.. if yall need parts and installs and tuning and ur from the Bay.. i highly recommend them.. great prices and customer service :thumb:

Yea on their site they claim only 30 minutes to install. The local speed shop wants $95 bux (1.5 hrs) because they say that they sauter all the connections.....

Same here, pre OBD-II ECUs can use the knock sensor function IIRC..late 95/96-99 cant/

yea man.. im glad i have john and other hardcore OG dsm owneres here in the bay to help me.. im very new to all this tuning stuff.. so it's very intimidating at first.. john does it with ease.. but im sure thats cause of his years of experience with DSMs.. hopefully soon ill eventually get it where i can do it myself.. :)

that's why i bought the safc instead of the afr or any other sort of fuel management. it doesn't matter how excellent you fuel management system is... if you don't know how to use it and no one else you associate with has ever seen the item you purchased...

Where did ya read that you can't use the knock setup on
a 2G? I have the new model AFCII and I had to set the base
knock sensor signal as outlined in the instructions. It seems to give
me knock counts, but sometimes they fluctuate up to 50 even
zero'd out on the AFC. I have a 2G 4G64 n/a Spyder that I am in the process of turboing, so I recently added a knock sensor and wired it
to the AFC hoping I could use the reading for tuning...
