awesome work, and i now predict that some 2g nt guys will begin looking for 1991 beretta's to swap 4g63's into

Funny that this comes up. Last week we had a 90 baretta in our shop and I was standing there looking at it thinking to myself how similar it looked to the dsm engine bay. I was actually going to look around see if anyone had ever done a 4g63 engine swap into a baretta.

Cool. :)

Ive got the sickness vandetta when it come to da chedda, ni-gga u mess with my paper you gon meet my beretta!! :thumb: Nice red everythign yummy

My question is WHY.

The Beretta is a turd in handling, a turd in looks, and a turd in weight.

Putting a 4G63 into a 944, an RX-7, a early 90's Colt Hatchback... any sort of "Sporty car"/Mitsubishi econobox, I can see.

But a Beretta is like shoving a diamond in the middle of a big pile of dogshit.

seems like the 4G63 is gettin really popular. its goin in colts, mirages, civics, avengers and now....berettas????

That sounds like something "TOP-SECRET" of japan would do. some other swaps they have done...

Removed godzilla(RB26deTT) from skyline gtr and put in a one-off twin-turbo enginefrom a 350z.

Removed TT 13b from 94 rx7 and replaced with 2jz-gte(supra tt)

removed 2jz from supra and replaced with gozilla (rb26dett)

they do all kinds of these weird ass swaps. WHY? who knows, and who cares because they are all terribly badass!

berettas suck. that isnt bad ass to put a 4g63t in one. and why would u swap a 4g63t into a 944?! in japan, you can get skylines for as cheap as 3rd gen rx7s here. 10-30 grand. its sickening isnt it.

Man, some of you guys are just getting jealous because you dont have the talent/time/money/ingenuity or whatever it takes to do these engine swaps. What do you all think people said to the first person to post swapping a 4g63 into a Mirage? Saem stuff you are saying about this, and about the Civic guy.

Btw, the Beretta may not handle as good as a DSM, but they arent bad. and they can be modded to handle a lot better than you think.

I highly doubt GM designed the Beretta to be anything other than a shit-box economy car, which is pretty much every car they make other than the Camaro/Vette. I don't see too many Beretta's holding down titles in Autocross or Road racing... But I'll take your word for it.

Mirages already came with a 4G63's and AWD. They were called Lancer EVO's.

And finally you'd put one in a 944 because the n/a 944's are way too much money to maintain economically, and the 4G63 shits all over the Porsche motor.

Only in Japan, Aussiem, and parts of Europe, I believe. In the US market, they never sold a 4g63 in a Rage, they all came with either a 4g15, 4g93, or in the 3g's sometimes a 4g61 turbo.

I think the berretta project sounds cool. No way it'll be as fast as the dsm's, without a @$$load more work, but it's a cool concept, and a total sleeper.

I think that's the idea behind it, it's cool to know that 4g63 is being more and more recognized.

haha... I can't believe that car is on here. I know all the guys who own that shop because they are from my home town of only 30000 people. The website makes their shop look like something special when it really isn't. At first they were going to turbo the 3.1 that was in it, then their plans were to swap in a 3.8Supercharged. In my opinion, I think it was a cheap solution. They are also in the process of swapping a 4G63T into my buddies 92 civic hatch.

Believe me, the cheap olution would have been to turbo the 3.1, as the parts are readily available. THey made 3.1 turbos in Grand Prixs from 89-90. Otherwise, the l67 swap(3800 SC) is easy on those cars as well. It's common. I give the guy props for being different.

Oh, and if you don't think GM's can handle, I suggest you think twice. My Grand Prix held tight with both my 1g's, and a slightly modded RSX, on it's stock suspension, rims, and tires. Most of the stuff on my car can and has been easily replicated on the Beretta/Cavalier platforms.

i still have to buy a dsm....gotta work in the summer, come sept. im gonna buy a first gen. I dont want recognition to the 4g63t, that would mean higher prices!
