1g or 2g engines?

You're probably gonna have to be a little more specific. What exactly are you trying to find out.(i know you're lookin for the difference in engine but what are you trying to do with this information)

the 2g engines are similar at best, and the 1g are almost identical with the exception of difference in compression

the 1g 1.8 is a different story, but the best i can tell you is thar although it is really reliable, it sucks powerwise

Heres something taken straight from a manual (I'm not geek enough to memorize this):

N/T Compression: 9.6:1
T Compression: 8.5:1
T Stroke: 3.46 in.
N/T Stroke: 3.26 in.
T Oil Pressure @ Curb Idle: 11.4psi
N/T Oil Pressure @ Curb Idle: 4psi

1st Generation Comparison
N/T 2.0 Compression: 9.0:1
T 2.0 Compression: 7.8:1
N/T 1.8 Compression: 9.0:1
N/T 2.0 Stroke: 3.46in
T 2.0 Stroke: 3.46in
N/T 1.8 Stroke: 3.39in
T 2.0 Oil Pressure @ curb: 11.4psi

2G T VS N/T Motors are nothing alike. 1G T and N/T are fairly similiar, the differences are:
Intake & Exhaust Cam Height, Compression, Ring groove width.

Ok im sorry i was so vague. i wanted to know how different the 1g blocks are i have a 1G 6bolt engine out of a n/t and was going to rebuild it for my 1g T. i also wanted to know how different the other parts where like the intake man., head, ect. any other help would be nice

Are the 2.0l T and 2.0l N/T heads different? Or why is there a difference in compression?

the compression is different because of the pistons, you have to run lower compression in a turbo car so you can run boost. If you didnt lower the compression then you wouldn't be able to run as much boost and it would hurt performance

I bought a N/T 2g head off ebay thinking I could just rebuild it and swap it on but after looking at the ports they are totally different. The N/T heads ports are small as hell and I don't know if I can port them out to match, expand the turbo head ports.
