they showed it too me and i was totaly thrilled, i thought it was the most bad ass thing i have seen in a while, what awsome enginering. But i wonderd what gains they give.. im a huge fan of green filters even more so than k&n... any one who has green filter experiance or experiance with this product plz post

Sounds like a SPAM post.

TWO-HUNDRED, FIFTY GODDAMNED BUCKS?

Good christ, you'd better come over and install the thing for me, and do a complete detail on the car and engine while you're at it.

Trying to make the housing into a centrifugal separator is a keen idea, but that crappy little piece of plastic on the nose isn't going to do it. And if you're going to choke down the intake to less cross-section than the original intake, where's the gain supposed to be?

Their copy reads like someone on here wrote it: "holes can be warn through the gauze". They talk of changing paper air filters with every oil change... uh, Mits says 30K miles.

I'd like to know how that aluminum housing works as a "heat shield"- it's going to soak up whatever ambient under the hood is, which will pass on to the intake air.

Anyway, I'm sure their $250 filter works every bit as well as the $15 cones on eBay.... which also work as well as K&N.

250$....

weird gimmick filter 250$

or

ebay filter...manual boost controller...test pipe...boost gauge 250$

most people on here wouldnt buy the Apex and Blitz intakes because they were more than 100$....

*waits for mod to lay some sort of smack down*

i relly cant figure out how rotateing air will help any thing.. and ive seen the "TORNADO!!!" on late night tv and still cant figure out what its doing to help, i know its a total sham. but a green filter is total ownage... all i see from this product is the same result as a cone filter *and mybe psycologicly thinking your car is faster* maybee worse! i would under stand if ther "heat shield" was a REAL heatshield but not an aluminium plateing, when i saw it was excited to see greenfilters put out a new product, and soem thing that seemed pretty cool... im kind of a green filter fanboi. any ways... i was thinking maybee they were branching away from fliters and just doing some thing new... the price tag is way too step to be a practical product, i would recomend a peice of pipeing a heat shield and a green filter cone over this, but if i see actual dyno results of this product i might change my mind, who knows..... sorry for my seeing idiosm and my contradiction. And if it answers any one esle questions i run a green cone filter on my 93 talon tsi right now, and it breaths a bit better than my k&n, but for the price tag of green filters, go for the ebay coneis! acording to peoples accounts they work just as well :p sorry im a "newbie!" kids no need to flame.

We actualy tested one of those tornados on a flowbench at my school and it actualy restricted airflow. They do swirl the air, but it doesn't increase the airflow. The whole idea behind it is that it swirl will help atomize the air/fuel mixture and keep it mixed well. They do swirl air pretty damn good, BUT.. once the air moves through the throttle body, past the throttle plate, it just straightens back out. We also tested one on an engine on a dyno, and it took away horsepower.

I stopped by Green Filter's booth at SEMA and I was not impressed. They had a flow test contraption on the table. They compared their filter to K&N's and to an OEM style. The Green and the K&N flowed the same and the OEM had the least flow. I didnt like their filter very much. It seemed to be half as thick as K&N's. You would think it would flow better, but it didnt. And being thinner, it's filtering efficency is probably worse. They didnt seem to filter better, flow better, or cost less, so I think I'll stick with K&N. :thumb:

As far as the filter in the link. It is a marketing gimmick. Looks like something from APC. I would rather use a $20 eBay filter........

meh... regardless of if it's better than an KN filter or not there's 2 things wrong here:

1. will you ever honestly feel a difference?

2. cost efficient? it's almost as pointless as getting an HKS green mushroom foamy intake thing :p

i'll stick to the 4" eBay filter i have
