A quick way to do it, just drive your car head-on into a light pole.
j/k.
I dont know how to, but I'm curious myself.

http://www.geocities.com/company78/vhowto.html I'm pretty sure it tells somewhere in there. Read that to make sure but I think you unhook the battery, then turn the key to "On" to drain all the juice from the airbag system then go at it. I think it says something like let it drain for an hour but I would let it drain for like 5 hours just to make sure :D. Make sure you go read it though, I havn't read it for a while so that info may not be exact.

There are only 2 bolts and 2 screws holding the airbag in place. It is easier if you remove the glove box. On the uder side of the dash, above the glove box you will see 2 bolts, remove these. Next the 2 screws are on the outside egdes, the only way to see them is to really get under there. After those are removed you can pull the airbag out it will come out easy. There is only one thing left the connector. It is one the side of the center console. this is why you need to remove the glove box. The passenger airbag weighs 10lbs. The only problem is you cannot separte the grey dashboard part from the airbag it is one hole peice. I am going to try and find a blown airbag from an eclipse so I can just use the cover. I did remove the battery before doing this. I let it sit for 30mins. But now after doing it I realize that you really don't have to take out the battery. But I would still feel uncomfortable. Also do not try and pry the cover off the airbag expecting the bolts to be under there. Learn from my mistake. the cover is made so that once the cover is opened it can't be closed. There is kind of a rubber hinge that rips when it is deployed. I had to use a little epoxy to make it stay closed and I don't think the epoxy will effect the operation.

The air bag system isn't even active unless your ignition is in the "on" position. All this talk of disconnecting or draining the battery is simply bunk. If you're really that worried just disconnect the SRS computer before removing the air bags. It's located underneath the center console.
