If I understand this correctly you are asking where the neg battery terminal ground goes, it is to the firewall. There is a tranny ground on the left side of the tranny, that goes to the metal level with the tranny but under the fuse box area. Also as far as how the fuse box goes there should be 3 bolts that screw the fuse box into the area just infront of the front pass. strut area. I circled the spots where it should screw in, its a 2Ga engine shot, but I believe they didnt change that between, 95-99. I circled in red the 2 bolts that bolt the bracket into the side, and I circled in teal, the 2 screw's that hold the fuse box to the bracket, and I circled in green where the last bolt should be.

Electrically it shouldnt matter which bolt the ground is connected to. As long as its attached to the engine/trans combo and grounded on the other side, the ground will function properly.

Well Dave awnsered where it should be hooked up to, and I awnsered where it should be grounded to, the part that I quoted in post #2 is a little iffy on what he is asking wheather it be where the neg cable hooks up to, or where the ground for the neg cable hooks up to, Dave awnsered where the neg. cable should hook to, and I awnsered where the ground should be.

There already is a neg cable hooked to the starter. This is the neg cable that is about 5 or 6 inches away from the end that connects to the starter.
Or where can I get a diagram from?

Regarding the OEM grounding system, I would perform the "DIY Grounding Kit" which can be found below. Doing this will give you a smoother idle, slightly better gas mileage, more responsiveness from the engine, and so on. As soon as I get all the parts together, this will be my next small project.

EDIT: Remember to make sure that where you decide to attach the grounding connections are cleaned and free of debris, dust, gunk, and such. Not cleaning the area where the connections are made will limit the effectiveness of the grounding wires.

I'm pretty sure there isn't a negative cable hooked to the starter from the factory. Does it look like a factory cable or something aftermarket? On all of my Mitsubishi cars the starter has two wires. One small one to the S terminal to activate it and the large one to the B terminal stud from the battery to power it. The ground is provided by bolting it down.

To clarify this. One of the stock mounting bolts for the starter to the trans is the location for the main engine ground in stock form. Just attach it to a clean metal surface anywhere on the engine or trans and you should be fine.

Awesome, thank you guys so much. I did a search and got the same picture, so I just wanted to make sure that it didn't go directly to the starter.
Also, does anyone have any pics of the underside of the bracket for the fuse box? I know where it bolts to the fender side, but the side closest to the bov, I can't figure it out. It's the bracket w/ the big harness plug on it.
I'm kicking myself in the ass right now because I labeled everything expect for 5 or 6 of them and I can't figure out where they go. Talk about aggervating

Is this the bracket you are refering to?






This is after I used a hammer on it. You can use your imagination here to see it upright.

Upon further looking at the a picture of how the 2G turbo fuse box is set-up, there may only be the 2 bolts on the bracket holding the fuse box on. Ill let on of these 2G guys that can go outside and look at their car and tell you for sure.

So now I found a T shapped connector that is under the thermostat and have no clue where it goes. Any help here?
I only see 2 sensors on the thermostat and I got those used already, used correctly that is. Can't figure out what this wire is for, ground? to where?
