This should be a fun day. There's a crew of people coming down from the Twin Cities for the day.

Some very nice payouts added. we are not expecting a big turnout so this is a great way to get some nice product for a small investment

Have I mentioned there is a riverboat 15 min from the track

Eric

no, a 16G is fine as well. it must be a stock appearing mitsubishi turbo. Otherwise those nasty stock turboed Evo's would walk all over the 1g and 2gs

Eric

Eric, can you list which vehicle makes/models are permitted to compete as the name of the event "AMS/DSM Central Sport Compact Drag challenge" seems incongruent with some of the class descriptions as RWD and 6cyl engines are allowed in the Street Stock and Street Mod where the chasis cannot be modified.

well this is really open to all cars. If you have a certain car that you have a question about I will tell you what class to place it in. But this is open to all import and domestic alike.

I hope that helps guys

its about a 2.5 hour drive. the best thing to do is mapquest it. its not hard to get to.

Just so you know last year our turnout wasnt the best and some people took away prize money just by entering. This is a great event and small enough to really walk away with some prize money.

Eric

I will be there just to watch. Should be awesome!! Hopefully, it's a nice day. Yeah from here in Cedar Rapids it's about 100 miles. 1 hour 45 min drive according to mapquest. I'm assuming tickets are available at the gate.

Ryan

Just wanted to thank DSM Central for organizing the event, and AMS for sponsoring it. I know the turnout was low, but it was still a blast.

The hotel on saturday night was fun, and I got to take the car out and get a few decent passes in.

Many thanks again for a kick ass event guys! :thumb:

I redlit in the second to last round and ended up with 3rd in Stock turbo class. But I did manage a new best ET with the Evo 16g.

Also, thanks to all the put the event on and thanks Eric for the oil.:thumb:

It was nice to meet you Albert, the car looks great and runs pretty decent too. I think you need to update your time in your profile.:p

Yeah thanks for pointing that out Ben...

It was nice meeting you too, I'd say you were one of the friendliest dsmers I have met. I do appreciate the help that you offered during the course of the event.

Glad to know that your car wasn't damaged when you dumped the oil all over the track. BTW was that in the left or right lane?

Again, big thanks to AMS and DSM Central for putting together an event, that was like shooting fish in a barrel ... (Q16 = 2 car field) I won by default!!

Can't wait for the shootout, there is going to be some damned awesome competition.

The oil incident was in the left lane, yeah I dodged that one I guess synthetic oil can protect even once its drained.

Sounds like it was a fun event. If they do another one, I might make the drive down there.

later,
Curt
