Hey guys I decided to go with the blow thru set up :D

I wanted to know how good does it tune? Reason Im asking this is because I was doin some searching and found out that I can trash my safc if I go blow thru. I also read that I can keep the safc and just fine tune.
Case and point LOL
Does the maft provide a good enough tune to be on the safe side?
thanks

Some have reported problems using the MAF-T blowthrough setup at all; on its own, it will give you a base tune; low, medium and high RPMs. The SAFC would be able to give you a much more detailed tune, as it will do given RPM levels instead of interpolated swaths.

You should be fine with the MAF-T though. It does pretty much the same thing as the SAFC, altering the air-count to trick the ECU into adding or subtracting fuel. Remember to swap your intake pipe for something less restrictive than the stock MAS, as it's still an intake restriction, even if it isn't being used for aircount. Oh, and do a proper deinstall on the SAFC... have a local buddy who just unplugged his and left the harness, and can't figure out why his car's having problems. :thumb:

(edit: for a perfect tune though, you'll need DSMLink or a standalone. The SAFC and MAF-T still trick the ECU instead of properly modifying the fuel maps, so it won't run quite as smoothly under normal driving conditions if you're using larger injectors or the like)

Don't ditch the SAFC (but if you want to sell it to me, I'll gladly take it off of your hands ROFL )

The Translator will work fine to get your car running on a generally good tune but it's settings won't get you close to a perfect tune. You'll want the SAFC to do the fine tuning.

I have my MAFt in blowthru and you'll notice that you'll run richer than if it was in drawthru with the same tune. It is a common occurance mentioned a few times in the full throttle forum.
